Babar Khan Restaurant — Restaurant in Calderdale

Impromptu visit here. Was calling to collect daughter from Hospital. Had 2 hrs to kill. Saw reviews saying you can BYOB. We arrived and asked if this was still the case and they said yes so collected 2 cans from car. 1 alcohol and 1 non alcoholic lager. Were offered choice of menu or buffet. Opted for buffet. It wasn't busy, just 2 other tables. I'm assuming this is why they didn't top the buffet up while we were there even though we were paying price as we would if busy, topped up and fresh. The chicken curry was quite tasty but the other items were not heat hot. Naan bread was hottest thing on buffet. We ate and when leaving and paying were asked to pay £1.50 each person for bringing our own drinks in. I believe we should have been told this before we took our seats. We eat at a lot of restaurants but won't be going back...

First vist to the restaurant Service was poor. We asked for Rubicon mango drink and were told there was not any. When we went to the bar there was a full case available.

When the staff were filling up the chicken karahi on the buffet. The staff put the lamb lamb karahi into the chicken karahi.

When challenged on this the staff said it was just the sauce that went into the chicken its ok. I challenged this because my wife eats chicken and not lamb.

There was another man I think the owner of the restaurant was wearing a cap with long hair down... not bed up of in a hair net in and out of the kitchen.

Finally.... I was left waiting at the till ignored, waiting to pay. Whilst the staff talked to his friends. It was only when the staff was beckoned over did he come to take my bill.

AVOID this place not worth it at all! from the staff to the food it was absolutely disgusting. Staff are rude, full of attitude and forgot to bring the drinks after asking 3 times. The food is blant, undercooked, dry, no taste at all. Not worth the money they charge. The chicken left our little ones with food poisoning and the currys are not cooked properly. Not much choice in the buffet. Most items on the menu tasted like they were not fresh. The lady at the counter is so rude like she working in a 5 star big restaurant like pipe down you dont own the place and only work on the counter. She calculated our bill and tried over charging once it was raised she did not apologise once. Very disappointing! Never visiting again. This place is a disgrace. You rather save your money and go elsewhere please avoid...
