Halifax Town Hall — Local services in Calderdale

An absolutely fabulous building or it was the last time I visited which must be over 15 years ago & that was for a presentation to disabled learners getting their L1 & 2 qualifications who I'd supported them in getting. Such a proud day, the Mayor's Parlour & a lovely spread put on by the fabulous canteen ladies. It's so long ago now and with all these cutbacks in Services which I'm sure I as well as other long standing residents are sick to death of. Did you see ITV/ Calender news tonight? The reduction of rubbish bins is quite frankly ridiculous, we've a litter problem mainly because children don't get the education we got so it's easy come easy go & no bins !! That was bad enough but now with the Hamster Wheel of the work environment + everyone flying round in their electric cars and seeing nothing etc etc WE HAVE A PROBLEM should read Houston but this is your well loved but quickly getting it's priorities badly wrong. Stop funding the flaming Piece Hall & get the money from the trustees. I'm sure it cost a fortune but why should us residents pay when you see the nightmare of terrible town centre traffic, hideous oversized apartment block in t8own, run down buildings that would house dozens with a refurbishment when the new Government minister is openly stating that building of Social Housing has to be a priority ?? Nice one Labour 👍🏼 All wd need now is a 1970s style Work to Rule I.e. pay us for the effort we're putting in or we go home early 😀 every day until you take on extra staff. Ive not been retired 2 yes yet, WASPI, and had I been able to work longer I really couldn't have kept up the pace of today & that includes years of 2 jobs, full and part time because thete wasn't the benefits available then that are now .
