We obviously went when there was āa problemā booked a table for 7.30pm and place 25% full. By the time our starters arrived at 8.30pm the place was 50% full, our long wait didnāt seem any different to other tables, two chefs were cooking flat out in the open kitchen, and one in the prep room out of view.
Several Gluten Free options, I wanted to be sure, so when I checked out a seafood starter labelled GF the female chef said it wasnāt so pointing out it was labelled on the menu as GT the excuse was, ācooked in a GF environmentā, well isnāt that the same for all their GF labels or do we have a chef who needs educating? Obviously not believing me, she checked the menu, surely a chef should not only know what ingredients they use, but from a professional point of view be fully versed in Natashaās law.
My FiancƩ was not asked how he wanted his flat iron steak, as the chef serves it rare. It was still blue after being sent back.
They had run out of our first choice of wine.
Granted they didnāt charge for our starters, the restaurant was only ever half full throughout our visit. I advise diners to wear something warm as a blouse with long sleeves wasn't warm enough for me with the air conditioning units blowing at me from two sides. Another tip, wear clothes which will easily go in the washer as opposed to dry cleaning, as your clothes and hair will be saturated in the smell of frying.
The place looks great and dishes left a long time under the hot light whilst the rest of the tables food was cooked looked good, sadly our experience does not reflect other reviews and there has to be a reason as the two chefs on view...

Visited for the first time and definitely won't be the last time, the restaurant is a great feel. The staff and food made for a memorable meal.
The Sunday lunch menu had a good selection of starters, we opted for salmon gravlax and courgette and chickpea fritters. Both items arrived promptly after ordering. The food was well presented and tasted lovely. For main we had sage and onion pork belly and the tomato and aubergine Wellington, again the food was presented beautifully on the plate. On each plate was two roast potatoes, tenderstem broccoli, a roasted carrot and a portion of cauliflower cheese. Everything was great, the staff brought extra gravy which was delicious.
We didn't have anything from the dessert menu but the menu looked good.
2 courses were around £20, brilliant value for what we got. Kids roast dinner was £5 for just a main.
The drinks menu had a varied offering at...

Today I changed all that and popped along for Sunday Lunch
Starting with : Belly Pork Bites
Followed by: Slow-roasted Sirloin of Beef, True North Yorkshire Pudding, triple-cooked roast potatoes, carrots, baked broccoli cheese, seasonal vegetable medley, pan gravy.
Accompanying was a large glass of red.
How would I rate True North? A solid 8/10, decor and service was outstanding as was the food in general, however, in my opinion the beef lacked flavour, Iām not sure chef had taken advantage of that incredible layer of flavour (fat) that would have made this a Sunday Lunch to remember.
It does however get a recommendation for me and I would...
