This is a nice place to go and there has been some recent refurbishment of the chapel ceiling. ... If you are a first time visitor, look upwards when you go inside. I went there for the first time and my mum said she wasn't happy with the new, simpler painted design but still, it's really pretty. There is plenty of information available about the building's history and framed articles are dotted around the walls (some of which could do with a good clean tbh). The decor is very dated and a bit dingy in places but that adds to its charm. Access is fairly good with a long structural ramp up to the entrance. Two 'disabled persons' toilets are to the left from the front entrance, whilst regular toilets are accessed across the room after you walk down a long corridor (these are also quite spacious, well, I only went to the ladies.). What I saw was very clean and in good order. Now, as we went there for a late lunch, I should rate the food... Firstly, the choice on the menu is good and the prices, as you might expect for Wetherspoons are affordable. Considering Wetherspoons food is not prepared onsite, but reheated - and therefore produced for that purpose, it has potential to be consistent as well as satisfactory. However, each dish we ordered was very much overheated and very dry. In the most 'British' way, we politely availed ourselves of the condiments available and made sure we ate all the salad. My favourite part was my hot drink, so just for fun I videoed it coming from the machine. (Tip: get the decaff version, then you won't get wired from caffeine, though it is pretty sugary). This is my impression as a first time visitor and I do not live locally. I got the impression that it was a decent, friendly place to go but it just do happened that whoever was dealing with our food in the kitchen that day could do with some further training and the food we had really wasn't good. That is why I only have three stars.

This place the building itself is one to admire the outside architecture plus inside has amazing features I think what spoons has done with this place is amazing no future added design kept it all with its historic design plus amazing ceiling painting s plus the organ features really makes the place look good. This place is a really good meeting place the service at the bar or on the spoons app so during the week it’s full of oaps plus benefits British but who can blame them for the price cheap has chips to sit down plus drink or even have a meal .The food I have eaten at this place a few times some times the food can be really good or some times just average but you can’t fault the staff the prices are really good for what ya get but the toilets depending on time or day can be a let down but I guess you can’t blame the staff for the cliental not being able to put toilet paper in the right area . The staff have been very pleasant over the years it’s never the same but always polite . The seating is very open but they have a snug at the back which is just mint

Me and the wife thought we would save on the washing up and cooking and pop out to our local spoons in brighouse. You know what to expect when you enter a weatherspoons, reasonable food at affordable prices and a great selection of drinks. We settled on a mixed grill and a tuna Panini with some extra onion rings and a couple of pints of Budweiser. The food came in under 15 minutes and was cooked well and tasted good. There were a few rowdy people in there who looked and sounded like they had been there all day but I found it more amusing than annoying. It wasn't the cleanest with quite a few tables with empty plates and glasses but eventually they were tidied up. Overall we will obviously go back as we got exactly what we expected. Good drinks and good food for the little we spent

Went here last night and to say it’s the worst experience I’ve EVER had at ANY establishment is an understatement! We had travelled to see my in laws for Father’s Day with his pick being here because it’s cheap and cheerful and you know what you are getting however I never expected the experience I had! I stated my dissatisfaction in part of my food to be fronted by a rude and arrogant man who turned out to be the duty manager! Was told there was nothing they could do, then promptly ignored by him, for me to raise it with another worker to then be fronted by 3 staff members standing at my table including the duty manager telling me they were going to do nothing! The duty managers exact words were… that’s my final word, if you don’t like my response or service you know where the door is! This was stated in a shouting and aggressive manner which caused my mum-in-law who suffers with anxiety to have a huge panic attack! Did any of the staff care nope! All the staff involved with this just walked past giving us dirty looks so much for caring for every disability and this being a safe space! Anyway adamant we were not going to let this ruin our Father’s Day plans we continued our evening, only to be shocked that after around an hour after this happened my father-in-law ordered another drink on the app for the duty manager to come over saying he has refunded the money for the ordered drink and won’t be serving us anymore! Absolutely disgusting service and ruined our trip for...

Avoid Sunday breakfasts, I've been a few times over the last few months and each time the experience gets worse. Today was the last try, having ordered via the app I had to chase our cups tea for me, coffee for my partner. The coffee machines both appeared to be not working, when I asked at the bar I got my head bitten off by a very brusque young lady who more or less shouted that someone was dealing with it, as the que appeared to get longer she herself came round to place the milk in the containers. No apology just more abrupt words about space. When I eventually got 2 coffees (as the hot water did not appear to be working, but quite honestly I didn't feel like getting my head bitten off again so opted for coffee) I got back to my table to find out my brunch had been delivered and was now quite cold! The attitude of this person did not make me feel able to complain so I ate a cold breakfast and departed. They are obviously short staffed on Sundays but quite honestly I will not be going back and will stick to the one in cleckheaton where I've never had a bad meal in the...
