🍽️ Cambridge Food Survival Guide: The Only Good Eats in Town!

My first time trying the ricotta and pistachio chocolate gelato… turned out it’s neither green or brown. It tastes quite like frozen yoghurt, milky and smooth, light and not too sweet (definitely better than vanilla in my opinion and goes super well with the espresso— diy affogato). Next time I might go back to my usual chocolaty, nutty or coffee tastes, although yoghurt and basil looks very intriguing. The little Italian pastries look amazing! I’ll probably try out each one of them. Bite-size guilt. (Didn’t know the shop has been here for a year already :3 —2 Who can resist any of these little pasticcini? I was almost going for the pistachio bigne but was glad I chose the custard one (called crema but not just cream). Not too sweet. A perfect balance of creaminess that offers great satisfaction without making my hand messy. And the espresso tastes refreshing. Gelato cocktail also looks interesting. 3- Gianduja is excellent. Tastes nutty and chocolaty. For people who can’t decide between dark chocolate and hazelnut/pistachio, a heavenly two-in-one option. Strawberry sorbet is quite refreshing. 4- a pack of biscuits for 7.5 is a bit expensive comparing with the mini pasties, considering the labor put into them. The cookies themselves are impeccable though. Delightfully salted, chocolaty, nutty, crumbly, slightly buttery, and not too sweet. (Butter ranks first in the ingredients so do share with good friends :P makes great gifts 5- Discovered a new favorite! Delizia Sicilians. Silky, airy tart, cheese-cake, cloud-like sponge, crunchy pistachio bits and bittersweet chocolate buttons, under a dazzling mandarine glaze. Wow. It isn’t my usual chocolate/custard/nut choice, but what a sophisticated and refreshing surprise. (A perfect indulgent dessert to celebrate a small-big achievement in my student life :) 20240403 Tried the chocolate cake today. Looks ordinary but tastes delicious: an indulgent “rocher” on top of a moist not-too-sweet chocolate sponge. So balanced. Love treating my friends here and seeing the amazement in their eyes ^^ 202405 More lovely varieties: The almond biscotti are crunchy and aromatic, buttery, nutty and fueled us with beautiful flavors during the tournament :D (no to energy bars). The filled cookies are rich and indulgent , especially the pistachio ones, which taste less sweet than hazelnut. I’m spreading the word to my friends in Cambridge and London. This is way better than the touristy F*.

Dulcis Gelato & Pasticcini is an absolute gem in the heart of Cambridge—a true slice of Sicily brought to life by the passionate Maurizio and Alessandro from Messina. From the moment you step inside, the aroma of freshly made pasticcini and rich Sicilian coffee transports you straight to an Italian café. Every detail here screams authenticity, and the love and craftsmanship poured into their creations are undeniable. The gelato is simply extraordinary—smooth, rich, and bursting with real, natural flavors. Whether you're indulging in a classic like stracciatella or trying a unique creation like yogurt and basil, every scoop is a masterpiece. The ricotta and pistachio chocolate gelato is a must-try, while their tangy lemon sorbet is the perfect refreshing treat. But Dulcis isn’t just about gelato—their pasticcini are exquisite bite-sized delights, crafted to perfection. The pistachio and chocolate cannoli are heavenly, and every pastry showcases the rich culinary heritage of Sicily. The dedication of the owners shines through in every bite, making Dulcis stand out as the go-to spot for authentic Italian desserts. If you’re in Cambridge and looking for a taste of Italy, you must visit Dulcis. You won’t regret it!

Dulcis has far and away the most flavorful, beautiful, consistently excellent desserts in the Cambridge area!

I've had their amazing pastries dozens of times as a grab-and-go treat, and have yet to find a flavor that is anything less than extraordinary. My personal favorites are their tartes, as well as anything pistachio, but truly: you CANNOT go wrong with any of their sweets. Their gelato, too, is out-of-this-world creamy and flavor-packed, easily the best in a town filled with premium ice creams! And their creamy cakes are divine -- rich and fluffy and flavorful...they somehow managed to convert me to become a fan of mango cakes!

I recently hired them to cater pasticcini and cakes for a 2000-person event, and they absolutely stole the show. Every single guest raved about their flavor, artistry, and the passion that clearly went into every bite.

Beyond that, the team is simply a delight to be around. They are warm, kind, and so excited to put a smile on...
