KFC — Restaurant in Cambridge

I have been to KFC on two occasions as I was very hungry during my supper break and needed something to eat quickly. On the first occasion, I had to wait 20 minutes for the food as the computer stopped working. To my surprise a girl working in the desk changed my order at her own whim. Although I was feeling ripped off and was panicking about returning to my workplace, I ended up paying £27 for the bucket of food, which I thought would cheer up my colleagues and get me off the hook for being late. Unfortunately the chicken was not cooked well and the meat was red and bloody at the bone. I let it go, it was my pay day, I could afford to treat my colleagues and we decided to throw the bucket of chicken in the bin. I went there again this Saturday, forever the optimist and I asked if the order could include some chicken breasts in the 10 piece family bucket that I was buying for myself and colleagues. The manager who was wearing a dirty looking woolly hat looked very disgruntled and told me very sharply that I could not have chicken breasts. Once again, I was served by the same girl that ripped me off a couple of weeks ago again. This time she gave me everything that I DID NOT ask for. The best part of the bucket was 2 chicken wings, 1 drumstick and 1 chicken breast and everything else was full of bones. Having paid £15.99, I received a bucket of greasy chicken with loads of bones and 3 small boxes of chips. No drinks and no sides, I was truly disgusted. I told my friends and colleagues about my experience and we gave the KFC chicken to our very greedy dog who turned his nose up after the second bite and walked away when we offered him more chicken. I am truly dissatisfied and would not recommend this place. I think people go there because there really is no other competition in Cambridge. KFC is very delicious when cooked well and when the service is efficient and the staff are polite. Unfortunately, this was not my experience at this dirty little outlet. I have been to KFC in other cities and my experiences have been completely different and puts the Cambridge KFC to shame. If I hadn't liked KFC and decided to give this place a second chance, I would not be writing this review. It's just that I am hugely disappointed and will not choose to go to this outlet again. If I could I would rate this place 0☆ I ordered food through just eat at 12pm when they started to take orders. My food was confirmed by kfc and said to be delivered at 1pm (an hour wait-not bad) when it had reached 2pm I was wandering where my food was.. at 2:30pm I phones just eat and was informed that they are low on drivers and kfc hadn't had one. After speaking to the woman on the phone and agreeing that I would go and collect the food. 36 weeks pregnant I drive up to kfc taking me around 5 minutes just to park out the back as they don't have allocated parking. I went in and asked to speak to the manager regarding my delivery. When arriving at the shop my brother who was at home phoned me to say food has arrived cold and my chips were missing from my meal so I asked for a replacement of chips. Now the time is 3:15 pm my food has been delivered and I'm at the shop in the middle of Cambridge. The RGM (regional general manager) called Shahih of the branch east road told me there was nothing he could do as just eat was a separate company. After leaving there and finally arriving home through the traffic. The time reached 3:45pm and my food was stone cold, I had no replacement fresh food and he denied a refund. I spoke to just eat who would give me a refund in 3 to 5 working days but only of the subtotal. So I paid ridiculous amount of money on online prices and delivery fee to had to of gone to kfc. Truly know a person by understanding their different faces... well... i saw three last night!

Working a day job Monday to Friday, and delivering in the evenings and weekends, has it's share of ups and downs with the main one being I don't get to always sample the mouthwatering food I smell 🤤😔

Yesterday I caved in. It was either that- or have my stomach declare a state of war similar to 300 with a scream of "THIS! IS! SPARTA! 😬😬😬

As mentioned in an earlier review I can't cope with spice or pepper too well- but on picking up my final delivery I saw... the chicken... wonderful, wonderful popcorn 🍿 chicken.... i promptly advised the guy working tills I'd be back shortly! "Heigh Ho Silver! Away!" (As I gently encouraged my poor, battered scooter to make another trip).

On return I could see the guys were getting ready for closing down- floors were mopped, tables wiped and appropriate signage- kudos 👏

Even though I'm assuming inside they were groaning at my late turn up- the staff were friendly and made some fresh popcorn chicken (in that just cleaned area- sorry guys ☹)

20 minutes in my thermal backpack and having been blown across the road a few times i got stuck in- So. Worth. It. Even with the equivalent of Vesuvius in my mouth with Johnny Cash singing ring of fire. I'm pretty sure I'll be able to taste again later on today! 😁🤣
