Little Seoul is housed in the basement of a building, insulating its diners from the noise of the cars on the busy main road it sits besides. The waitress was lovely: very polite, patient and attentive. While we waited for our order, she brought us a complimentary egg roll and tofu in soy sauce. We started with some sweet chilli fried chicken - gorgeous meat, thick breaded exterior, and leaning more on the side of chilli and less on sweet. We also enjoyed the seafood and tofu soup with rice - a decidedly fishy flavour, tempered by the neutrality of the tofu. A bim bam bop of assorted goodies including meat (beef?) pieces and a fried egg came with a miso soup. Lastly for mains, we had a sizzling plate of rib meat with the most wonderful fried onions I've ever enjoyed. Dessert was a red bean sorbet: an assortment of fruit, red beans and condensed milk upon shaved ice. I particularly liked receiving my Diet Coke in a glass bottle (it just always tastes better!). Together with a second drink and gratuity, the total was £55.55. The only thing preventing me from choosing 5* is the lack of natural light, and the slightly more spicy than sweet profile of...
Read moreThe food they serve is tasty and I have enjoyed my soondoobu jigae (soft tofu stew) to a certain extent. This is all good I can say about Little Seoul. The servings, however, are quite small. Most importantly, they serve food with virtually no banchan (side dishes). be it namul, kimchi or anything else. I ate there twice. Once I got a bit of a meatloaf (which was not great), the other time - some bean sprouts (literally a single fork worth of sprouts). The sprouts were OK. It was the first Korean restaurant I have been too, that did not serve kimchi as a side dish. The rice - both in bibimbap and as a side for my jigae - was overcooked and uninteresting. The service is border-line rude and the location in a basement does not really help to create a welcoming ambience either. The food is edible and can be tasty, but I don't think I will come here ever again. Which is a pity, as I love Korean...

The food was nice and authentic. Everything was freshly prepared for every order.
Medium portion size with reasonable prices.
There was some interesting caught my eye in the menu: All dishes are GM free.
In order to confirm the statement, I asked the staff about that. The staff told me that the noodle was from Korea.
I got severe allergy symptoms on Korean wheat products(dumplings and noodles) in the past(not related to this restaurant!). Later on discovered that just like Japan, Korean wheat products are GMO too.
So I am not going to risk it no matter what. At the restaurant was honest about the source of their wheat items on the menu.
So it's up to your choice if you want to try their noodles.
The restaurant was relatively small. It is located underground therefore it's very easy got overlooked by the...
