Nando's Cambridge - St Andrew's Street — Restaurant in Cambridge

The food was great as always!! No fault on that aspect:) However…The person that I can only guess was the manager (as he was wearing normal clothes to everybody else) whose name is “Ruben” was one of the rudest people I have ever seen and have come across. You could clearly see that all the staff were afraid of him and we had witnessed multiple arguments that took place between him and other staff members. This was because he was patronising and condescending in the way he treated and talked to his colleagues. This was very clear as this one colleague had finally had enough of his rotten behaviour that they argued back (rightfully so) This lasted for a good while and he was not happy at all. This only caused him to become worse with his attitude to his staff members, treating them awfully. It was clear from the get go that the colleagues were scared of him as every time he would walk in their vicinity or would see him they would speed walk in the opposite direction. This seemed like a very unpleasant work environment for the workers and resulted in an unpleasant and uncomfortable experience to sit and eat in the restaurant amongst all of the chaos...

5 people(3 adults and 2 kids 9 and 6 year old) went into the restaurant we were given 4 seat table and asked to adjust and we requested if we can have an additional seat as there was space either side but one staff( without inform) was so rude the way he spoke and wasn’t polite at all he neither offered additional seat nor gave us the alternate seat.

After he left the customer next to us felt bad the way he spoke and offered a chair from their table as they were not using and they said they won’t use one side to walk out instead they use other side but we didn’t take it as this person was so rude and loud. While the food was served and we had started eating he came and said they have another place and if we want to move, as we were in the middle of the meal we said no.

Later after the meal when 2 kids were having their dessert lolly from Nando’s and I just had a bite of Chelsea bun which we got from a bakery next door. He came back again making a big fuss about nuts in my Chelsea bun which contained none nuts, he started saying other customers will have allergies so and so but he keeps and sale nuts for customers in the same roof which doesn’t...

The food and experience here is usually good. But on this occasion (17th June), it was quite disappointing. We ordered as a group of 4 all together, but the food came out at all different times. This was not ideal, as one person in our group received her fino pita over 45 minutes after ordering.

I also kept asking the host when our food would arrive (the man with large ear piercings and a cropped fringe) and he wasn’t at all bothered. He was apparently the manager. Not a serious apology or anything done to make amends, so we just sat there.

Eventually the food arrived, but it came cold and the order wasn’t correct. When I told the manager, he simply just said that he will give a slice of cheesecake. He did not offer a sincere apology.

I complained to another member of staff and then they offered a sincere apology and a refund. But at this point we had all finished and my friend was sitting there hungry with no food. It was a bad situation. I will say that those two staff members who did help us were very kind and understanding. The manager was a problem though.
