What an amazing gem of a place a the river side with plenty of outdoor seating and heaters. It’s a November evening so I expect it to be quiet, apparently it’s heaving in the summer. I’m happy for a quiet chilled hour after a day working away in Cambridge. The Beer has a good variety, is lovely and at a decent price compared to some other nearby places. Pizza is unreal, possibly the best I’ve ever had. I had the chorizo crumble šŸ™ŒšŸ» The two guys behind the bar were great for a conversation. They said their names were Tom and Tommy (I’m not having it, I think they were pulling my chain šŸ˜³šŸ˜œšŸ˜‚)

DO NOT get the mangoose ale. It doesn't taste or look like a beer but more a homemade attempt to ferment orange juice. DO NOT recommend, it shouldn't even be sold, it is disgusting. We tried to swap it for somthing drinkable but the bartender wasn't having any of it (even though it was £5.40 for 2/3 pint). I DO however recommend the glaxis dwag ale ( cloudy pilsner) and the mosaic and simcone (bitters) Pizza were fresh and surprisingly very delicious! They only serve pizzas, no other pub food All their ales are made from the mill road brewery where they have a 2nd indoor pub.

A really lovely spot that serves some of the best pizza in Cambridge. One of the staff, Chris, gave us one for free as it was going! Dude deserves a payrise, will absolutely be coming back. That really made our night, thank you!!

New review after the recent change of ownership. We used to really love having pizza and drinks at Engineer's House. Unfortunately, the pizza quality (which was previously OK, but never great) has really gone downhill and are kind of awful now. The previous pizzas were made in a wood oven, and the new management has transitioned to using gas powered ovens with clearly sub-par ingredients. We went as a group of 4 recently and couldn't believe how bad the pizzas were -- we're talking near Domino's level bad. It's honestly a huge bummer, as the Engineer's House is incredibly pleasant to go to for dinner during the summer/autumn. Note to new management -- you guys can do wayyyyy better to step up your game. I wouldn't come here...

We are locals who love to support the close-by establishments and The Engineer's House is a lovely spot.

However, pricing wise, especially as most attending it are locals, we didn't feel (on our visit yesterday), that we got our money's worth. A pint of Cider for 6Ā£ is a regular (high) price in 2024, but why does a thin Pizza with a bit of goat cheese (i e the GOAT Pizza on the menu), needs to cost 17Ā£? It was alright Pizza, but I regret to say not one that's worth so much.

The place itself offers a cool vibe, although as it is outside and the seating arrangements are picnic tables and wooden benches, there's a sense that cost wise the customer is charged a premium for a basic (even though...

Ive loved this place but when they say hospitality is dying this is why.

12.30 Saturday afternoon after a dog walk was sat at the front with my dog who needed water. The bowls were empty.

Went to ask someone who was wiping tables she said speak to the bar they will give you some. Went to the bar dog in one hand drink in the other. Asked one of the 3 staff behind the bar (which had no customers) who said ā€œthe bowls are are the frontā€.

I replied i know but they are empty.

The reply was yeh the taps over there by the toilets you can go fill them up.

3 staff stood there. No...
