Greggs — Restaurant in Cannock Chase

Food is normally good but some of the staff are very blunt at times, borderline rude, especially one specific female member of staff. Went in to get a hot ham and cheese baguette, I didn't realise that the same baguette could be sold cold as the pricing ticket wasn't very clear but that couldve just been me not seeing a separate hot price. I was served by the above mentioned member of staff who was very snippy already before any issues arose, never asked if i wanted anything else etc. And just blurted the price at me. After paying she's just staring me down without saying anything so I bring up how I thought the baguette was heated and she just sighed dramatically and said 'we charge to heat it', I apologised and said it wasn't very clear on the ticket so I didn't know before asking if there's anyway to pay just the extra charge. She again sighs before saying I'd have to be refunded then repay the whole thing. I was very done with the attitude after it all so just said to leave it as she was already tapping away at the till aggressively, then all of a sudden it was like her customer service kicked in and she was like 'are you sure?' All in all it was another shocking experience from the same member of staff as always and it's really put me off ever returning to this Greggs. If I spoke to customers like this at my own job I would get put on a warning, especially if I did so as often as she does. Shame as majority of the other staff are...

Came here as working near by... Ordered a baboon sausage and omlete baguette .... With a hot chocolate as the drink meal deal..

Asked for a little brown sauce... Got back to the job and it was covered in it... Very unpalatable and it got all over my hands trying to re stack the baguette as it was just shoved together by shop staff

... Gets better as when I tried to drink the hot chocolate the lid on the cup didn't fit so started to dribble down my face causing me to snatch it away, spilling it on me,the van and the floor.

I tried to refit the lid in case it was me who had dislodged it but it just wouldn't fit no matter what I tried...

Not happy.. Covered in hot chocolate thought it was better to contact customer services rather than vent on shop staff...

First they offered a free sweet item...

Not impressed 😳

However after I sent them a reply email showing them these photos they replaced the breakfast and...

As this is my local Greggs, I’m just baffled as to what’s happened over the last 6 months.

The service is slow, sometimes rude and it seems they aren’t good with timings when it comes to replenishing either.

While all of this may be a matter of wrong time and place for me, I have now, on 3 occasions seen a single pair of yellow tongues used for both chicken and the vegan products.

While this is something that doesn’t bother me, I do know how dangerous this can be for a company to respond to.

We all know there are certain factors that can weigh in and may prevent some cross contamination - however, using the right tongues is basic practice and day one kind of thing.

I won’t be returning to this Greggs, I will now drive to the orbital store where basic food hygiene is...
