I visited Bangkok House on Sunday 24 November 2019 in the evening. I was with one other person. This was my first visit. I used Google Maps to find the restaurant, which was easy and led me straight to the right place.
The restaurant comprises of one fairly large sized main dining area segmented in to a couple of different sections with plenty of tables with full table service. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with carved wood features and plants. The tables are glass topped with impressive hand carved wooden decorative designs underneath.
The team were very friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and enjoyed the experience.
I enjoyed a chicken satay starter and sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice for my main course - I'm not very adventurous, sorry! The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted good. There was an extensive selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily. The food was very good value for money, I paid less than £25 for the two courses and drinks.
Overall I enjoyed my visit and would come and...

The moment that I visited that place was when I missed Korean food and became homesick.
The restaurant was beautifully decorated with carved wooden features, and plants, which reminded me of being back home in Korea. I wasn't feeling adventurous enough to try new food that's unfamiliar to me. So from the menu, I ordered 'Prawn(Shrimp) Fried Rice'(Number 84) and my friend ordered the 'Spicy Beef'(Number 33). Both foods appealed to us easily and my appetite came right back. The good things with the restaurant are countless: First of all, no tipping, the second is the reasonable prices(less than 10 pounds), clean restroom(In a country where it is hard to find public restrooms…there was a clean restroom for us to use!), in addition to very friendly staff. The only downside I noticed is that it is closed on Mondays.
Overall, I enjoyed my many visits.(more than 5 times in 3 weeks at Canterbury) It's worth visiting all the time. Nothing can be better! Everything was...
Read moreI finally visited Bangkok House after being told about it by numerous people — I was not disappointed! Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a server who brought us to our table (I had called earlier in the day to book a reservation). We ordered some drinks and a starter platter to share. The house white wine was lovely and so was everything on the mixed starter platter, which included rolls, chicken wings, satay, gyozas, sauces and more. For my main, I ordered the chicken phad Thai (my go-to fave dish) and really enjoyed it! There was the perfect amount of sauce, crushed nuts, a lot of chicken and the portion was more than enough for me. 10/10 Thai in Canterbury! Some of the other meals ordered around the table included a red curry, pineapple fried rice and another curry rice dish, all of which were also big hits. The establishment was very clean and beautifully decorated, and the staff were all very friendly, which made the experience all that more enjoyable. I will certainly be back for more phad Thai, and to try some...
