I had extremely high expectations from this restaurant! We booked the restaurant as we were celebrating my nephew graduation meal, for 17 guest. We arrived on time, we were taken downstairs, the ambience was lovely, we all sat down, and the lady came took our drinks order. No bread or dip to begin with, we ended up ordering 5 mix platters and grilled king prawns, only for them to come back and tell us they'd run out of chips so they'd make wedges and had no king prawns from the main as I wanted grilled, so was given the option to have smaller king prawns from the starter section .... bearing in kind, we booked 2 weeks ahead of time, so they should've been prepared.... the restaurant wasn't busy at all, few tables upstairs and thats about it. drinks orders Pretty much all came different times, we ordered mocktails at 6.20ish some of us didn't get our drinks 45 plus min later and some arrived just before we left, we Was so disappointed.... then the food arrived it's wasn't great, very bland, to our suprise the 5 platters came within 25min...... Iv been to other turkish restaurants before and if I was to order it would've been way over an hour. when I saw the prawns... they were not KING PRAWNS.... I was horrified and just so disappointed.... toilets weren't clear, dusty, and flies buzzing around, so everytime someone went to use the toilet flies were bussing around the restaurant and sitting on the food..... the two ladies who served us, the lady in the hijab really didn't know what she was doing and to be fair was just faffing, but there was another lady I didnt get her name, she had only been there few weeks, did her utmost best to cater for us! It's a shame the restaurant has so much potential but it seems like they've lost motivation and don't really care... staff outside smoking and drinking not very professional. unfortunately, i won't be visiting them again but will come to Canterbury for sure.

Visiting Canterbury for the day, we wanted a satisfying meal that wouldn’t break the bank. Both in terms of value and taste, Azouma’s lunch buffet totally surpassed our expectations. The food on offer was plentiful, bursting with flavour and so fresh too. The beef tagine was a favourite, along with the lamb, and the olives too - I must’ve eaten my weight in them! I hadn’t expected dessert to be included but it was, and that too was very good. A variety of bite sized puddings were available along with Mr Whippy style ice cream. A Saturday lunch buffet was just £10.95 with a service charge of 10% added. I didn’t begrudge paying this as the service offered by the two members of staff was very friendly and attentive - and, being our first visit, we were shown the buffet and talked through each of the dishes. I only wish that the restaurant wasn’t an 85 mile drive from home because I’d love to go back!

Ordered chicken ragine and azouma Mezze. The mezze was not authentic - it was served with spring rolls and in a spring roll dish. Both plates came with too much sauce and not enough rice. Also, the sauces were watery. I wanted to order a side of naan but they were out, so I ordered a side of fried potatoes to dip the excess sauce. The potatoes were cold on the inside - clearly undercooked from frozen. Though the ambience is nice (couches with pillows and soft music) and the staff were friendly, the food is not that good for the price I paid (£34 minus the potatoes they gave me on the house). It’s a shame because I live in Canterbury, but I definitely won’t be back.

We booked a table for seven for 25.6.13 and on first impression as we entered the ambience was excellent. Normally the first question people ask is, 'would I eat there again?' The answer is most definitely No. I'm not a complainer and this is the first review I have ever written about a restaurant but when seven people walk out wishing they had eaten somewhere else then something has to be said. We were shown to our table and given the menu's. Admittedly two of the party were twenty minutes late but it still took 30 minutes for a member of the staff to approach us again and take our order, that was when we ordered our first drink! Everywhere else I have ever been that is the first thing we are asked about. The restaurant was not busy and although it is a Moroccan restaurant I still expect the waiter to speak and understand English. The service was appalling slow, the drinks extremely over priced...£3.75 for a 330ml lager and over £6 for a cocktail which took 15 minutes to make. The Gin and Tonic was 99% tonic and a tot of gin because the glasses were more like lemonade glasses than a glass suitable for gin and tonic The food was okayish but the salad was a joke, The salad supplied with the starter was a few strands of iceburg lettuce and a slice of tomato....that was it. Apart from the lamb that I had, the food was somewhat overcooked, greasy and to be honest a but bland. By the way - for anyone who is disabled or has any kind of mobility problem, the toilet is downstairs, ok for me but not for my daughter who was wheelchair bound...so she had to wait. Faster service, better value for money, someone who knows what they are doing behind the bar and an updated billing system, not a piece of paper and a digital calculator would be an...

Right so the first thing any person should say is that this restaurant has a food hygiene rating of 0 stars but they still show a sign which shows a 4 star rating.

Restaurant from the outside looks grotty, clearly no money has ever been spent on making the place look better, day and night you will see rats run around the place...one time seeing them run into the back of the building. A fair amount of the time you will see multiple males hang around outside of the restaurant chatting away with the fellow workers who i assume are all freinds and whilst this is fine its the smell of cannabis and alcohol that brings it down, does not help when the workers do it too right outside the restaurant in their kitchen clothes....grim.

As you walk inside you again realise that the whole place could do with a fresh lick of paint....or in other words pull everything out and start again from fresh, everything is dated. Atmosphere is awful and you feel like you have made a mistake of coming in. Workers can be nice at times but are mostly rude with them walking away sometimes muttering words under their breath.

Food is okay but not great, especially given the price there are many better places which feel alot more lively in Canterbury and also does not have groups of people hanging outside drinking alcohol or smoking weed.... oh and they have a 5 star food rating compared to this place of a 0 star rating.

Ill never come here again and i will not be surprised if the place closes down, to anyone who wants to risk it go ahead but to everyone else....there are many better places in Canterbury. I just wouldn't risk...
