Booked a table for lunch prior to a theatre show after seeing the 2 courses for £15 and kids eat for £1 online. Arrived and was told to sit wherever. Offered drinks upon seating, which was great. I queried the lunchtime offer with the waiter, which was showing as two courses for £17 on their menu, (£15 online), and was told we could get 2 of anything on the menu for £17. Kids were 3 courses for £8, I'd queried the kids for a £1 which I quoted on the booking, to which the waiter said he would have to get the manager as he didn't know. The manager explained that kids can eat for £1 when an accompanying adult spends £15. Perfect, I thought, until upon ordering our food, the waiter then says they're not offering the lunch deal of 2 for £17 as they're currently in the process of upgrading their menu but he didn't know?! I've never been to a restaurant that advertises and confirms a deal to then retract it 10 minutes later.. the childrens menu also doesn't show prices for items when ordered invidually. Anyway, we went ahead and ordered and explained we had a show to get to so queried the wait time, was told 15 minutes. The food took much longer than 15 minutes to arrive, during this time the waiters were busy serving a lot of drinks to other tables, the waiter came over after a lengthy wait and apologised. Our food then arrived, separately, one adults and one child's pasta first, an adults pizza followed and my youngest that was waiting on a child's pizza was left without food so I had to share mine as he was already hungry and complaining of the wait. A different waiter who served some of the food apologised and said that had a big table to attend. Surely, this should've been explained upon ordering with the original waiter. The place wasn't particularly busy at the time, but there were a lot of cocktails going out. Remainder of food came out after a short time, and one of the small plates was incorrect, to which the waiter rectified after me pointing it out. I'm not sure if the member of staff serving us today was new or not, I didn't get his name, or whether our experience would have differed with a different server or the manager who were both very helpful when they did come over. I think communication between staff could be better from observation. Overall, the quality of food was good, and the final bill was cheaper than I expected, but the service could have been better. It's an aesthetically pleasing venue that would be great for cocktails with friends, but I personally wouldn't recommend it for families.

The Citi Terrace is a very modern popular vibrant restaurant in the heart of Canterbury city centre. The food is really very good, between us we had the loaded fries which I loved plus the parmesan and garlic fries, the loaded fries were definitely better in my opinion. Normal fries were £4 and the parmesan fries were £5. With every dish you need to add fries or an accompaniment to say the steak or a burger. The steak was £17 which was very nice and a fairly good price, the burgers were from £12 to £14. You can also select one or multiple small dishes which also makes for a nice meal, however!! They do say all of the food does not arrive at the same time, now this can be annoying and the reason I didn't give the Citi Terrace 5 stars, very unfortunate because I loved my food, even though the Parmesan fries which were arguably a little on the dry side, but the loaded fries more than made up for it. The Citi Terrace is up one floor, but not a problem for anyone in a wheelchair as they have a lift. Outside and inside Dining. Parking like all of Canterbury is done either by multi storey or in a car park, we parked at the City wall car park. Friendly staff.

Friday night we had our Christmas do. There was 20 of us and Sumit (our waiter) definitely had his work cut out for him. He was amazing!! 2 of us came early to set up and took full advantage of the "Buy one get one free" offer on the cocktails. The food was delicious too. The only thing we were a little unhappy about is the discretionary service charge. We knew nothing about this until we were given the bill. There were 3 of us girls left at the end of the night to sort the bill out. The manager got funny with us as we said we didn't want to pay it. We had a tip in cash already so wanted to pay that directly to our waiter. So in the end we took the service charge off the bill. They should really make sure people are fully aware of this when they're booking or just being sat down. It isn't fair to throw this on a bill at the end of the night without any notice.

It was really loud, full with shouting drunk people, but the main problem were the food and the drinks. The cocktails are very expensive because some of them are dubbed "instagrammable", but they are not. Ours was presented in lanterns with a little dry ice smoke which are opened and immediately taken away before you could even take a photo of it (which is supposed to be the whole point of it), which left me wondering why I'd been charged £13 for a drink in the first place. My cocktail which was not "instagramable" looked so much better then my sister's which should have been, just without the puff of dry ice. We ordered our food. I am a celiac, I put that on my reservation, they confirmed it when we were seated too and when the drinks order was taken as well. I ordered a gluten free pizza, and when it arrived it turned out that it was not gluten free (after I asked to double check). I sent it back, then a manager presumably came and asked if I mentioned to the waiter that I wanted it gluten free and did apologise which was appreciated - these things happen and it was very loud so understandable if the waiter mishears. I told to him that yes I did mention it to the waiter. He left and promised to get me another pizza. A different waiter came over and apologised again. Then our original waiter came back (this being the third member of staff so far) and told to me that I did not order my pizza gluten free at all, and blamed it on me and that i should have asked. It was very upsetting, all of my table companions confirmed that I did ask for it to be gluten free which also costs extra. I totally understand if there is a mistake, but to come back and blame it on me is very upsetting. Under our table there were big chunk of left over food from the previous guests. All together it was quite disappointing and we will never go back - overpriced and rude service from one member of staff meant we left after one drink. All other members of staff were very...

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We were a group of 8 and arrived at 7:00 PM. From the moment we walked in, we were already receiving attitude from the host completely unwelcoming and unprofessional.

We waited over an hour for our food with absolutely no communication. At 8:41 PM, we had to call over a waiter ourselves just to ask about our order. She told us the kitchen was “packed” and something was going on. Then, 5 minutes later, she returned to ask us what we had ordered. At that point, our frustration grew. We had been sitting there hungry for over an hour, and now it was clear that our food hadn’t even started being prepared.

Not once did any waiter come over to check on us or update us. Eventually, the same waitress returned and asked, “Are you still waiting for food?”as if it wasn’t obvious. I asked her if the food had been made yet, and she said, “They’re making it now.” That was a red flag for us. After such a long wait and no care from the staff, we kindly asked to cancel the order.

Shortly after, the manager came to our table and began raising his voice, saying, “You guys ordered four meals!” We calmly told him we had cancelled because the wait was ridiculous. I also told him I was a child and to speak to the adults at the table instead of shouting at me. He then proceeded to shout again and said, “LADIES, LET ME FINISH TALKING!” it was completely uncalled for, disrespectful, and honestly shocking.

To make it worse, when the bill was brought over, the host continued to act rude and unprofessional, as if we were the problem. This was supposed to be a special birthday dinner for my aunt, but she ended the night crying and we had to settle for McDonald's just to fill our stomachs.

This was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve ever had. The staff made multiple mistakes, failed to communicate, and then blamed us for their poor service. Totally unacceptable. Come here at...
