Most people coming to whitstable is mainly for oysters. We did our bit for the oysters, we were still hungry so we decided to find something more filling to eat.

Since Whitstable is close to the sea, naturally I thought we’d have seafood pasta and we found this place on Google map.

We didn’t have any reservations. We just walked in. There were some seats by the bar. We were greeted by the owner.

The lobster and crab meat linguine immediately got my attention. And it didn’t disappoint.

The pasta was very al dente, with the freshness from the loose crab and lobster meat. It was with less salt from the kitchen to show the sweetness from the seafood. There were salt and pepper and chilli flakes in the side if you want it to be with stronger flavour. It would be even better if the portion was a bit bigger.

The owner was friendly and nice, with good boundaries, not overly talkative but chatty enough to let us feel welcomed.

The restaurant offers a good selection of wine. Unfortunately I was not feeling 100% so I didn’t order any alcoholic...

I have popped in for coffee at RuLus a couple of times and really liked the atmosphere so booked a table for 6 of us for a birthday. It's a great use of the space, really well suited for small groups of adults (it was apparent that small dogs also incredibly welcome!). The front of house team were super friendly and so efficient, despite there only being two of them everything was done promptly and was right! We took their recommendations and three of us had Halibut - we all said it was the best we had tasted - all the flavours complimented each other so well. The rest of us had gnocchi which looked delicious. Really decent portion sizes! We also shared the crevettes to start which were delicious. Just can't say enough about the place really. Loved it all. Do be sure to book as there were lots of reserved tables. Or if you can't get in just take of the delicious looking sausage rolls or tarts away with you, you won't be disappointed. Thanks all at RuLu's, can't wait to see you again! Oh and no pics as we were too...

Always delightful the moment you step through the door. Perfect for coffee and pastries, delicious breakfasts, fabulous lunch menu and evening drinks. Really high quality ingredients, lovingly prepared and presented. The deli has so many treats too, with the tarts and pastries being a favourite of mine. Staff are all so hospitable, friendly and engaging and will always try to accommodate, given how popular the place is with locals and visitors. Booking is a good idea if you have a larger party. I'm always happy to sit and perch on the stools or out front and treat myself to a piece of whitstable charm.

It's sad to read vindictive reviews by the likes of Mr Zebra that decide put the boot into local businesses just because he was frustrated. Guess it's easier for him to stamp his feet, scuttle off, hide behind a pretend name, and write untruths, than for him to grow up and show kindness and empathy for people that...

What a place. We drop in regularly for the amazing Portuguese custard tarts and coffee (my partner is from Lisbon and she says they’re amazing). Just had a Sunday roast (beef and chicken), with a chicken liver pâté starter, bread and butter pudding and the most insane blood orange and vanilla cheescake and WOW WOW WOW. We loved it, the kids loved it - best restaurant food in Whitstable. Easily. Highly recommended. ❤️

Absolutely fantastic. The best tapas we have eaten in the UK. The daily special of lobster and shrimp bap was so tasty. The plates of scallop (with jamon), croquettes and Madrid beef were out of this world. Lovely atmosphere, lovey staff and nice to hear some light jazz background music. Would be 6 stars if possible.
