We stopped for a drink and some food as it was a beautiful day. We sat down and waited to be served. And waited. And waited. One of the waitresses walked past us and looked at us, didn't engage and carried on trying to look busy. She walked past us a few times but no inclination of serving us. We waited over 5 minutes before my wife went inside to order drinks and get a menu for food. She paid for drinks and was told they would be coming out straight away... another 10 minutes elapsed and no sign of the drinks. The waitress walked past many times, no drinks but tried to make herself look busy whilst also spending ages talking and laughing with her friends. Another waitress appeared and was rude to another table. Other people arrived and there was no actual service. Eventually my wife went to get our drinks herself but by that point another waitress appeared at the door with our drinks. We decided we didn't want to wait hours for food so you missed out on more revenue. The only reason we've rated it 2 stars for food is that the cheesecake looked good. If this is the usual standard of service I would avoid. Amazing location, when the sun is out it would be perfect for catching the sun and pretending you're at a Parisian café. Unfortunately with dreadful service this is as far away from a Parisian café as Carlisle...

Yesterday Monday 12th July , The Espresso Hub was recermended to us to go and have coffee there. Unfortunately it will be the last time we go , we sat inside a waitress came over took our orders coffees and sandwiches , coffees came , still no food ' we had heard a big crash in the kitchen and we Jokingly said I bet that was our food , 30 minutes later we asked were our food was the waitress went to check ' at no point were we informed that there was a problem with our food order , she came back and we were informed that there had been and Accident in the kitchen Yes our food. They said hopefully within 10 minutes it would arrive Sorry no we've have been waiting now 40 minutes we don't want the food now our coffees were cold no proper Apologie still had to pay full price for our coffees ' oh the waitress had her mask under her chin at no point was she told to place it over nose and mouth, and the young man washing cutlery and plates in the sink must play the drums in a band , the last thing you want to hear is all that noise when having your lunch ' so that's why we won't be going back , the manager needs sort...

Was in Carlisle for a few nights and on my first morning was looking for a coffee shop. Went search for one on Google to check if there were any open at 8 AM. 3rd one down, underneath all the known ones (which I avoid whilst on holiday as I like trying new places), was Espresso Hub. First review said they have the best coffee and my instinct was “oh c’mon, is just coffee”. God I was wrong! Ordered a hazelnut latte and on my first sip, my eyebrows shot up! Sooo good! The coffee is to die for! Smooth, tasty and delicious. Definitely the best coffee I have tasted so far. Call me old fashioned, but I am also a believer of the fact that good customer service improves one’s experience, and this place has...

I was going to walk by, but the manager suggested that I give them a try, the Full English was cooked almost to perfection, and they even swapped the eggs to scrambled for me and was well presented and (completely) hot - sadly, not all cafes in the city can manage this simple task... the staff were warm, friendly, and proactive, all-in-all a wonderful experience, slightly on the expensive side compared to other cafes I usually frequent, but can't knock the quality of food presented - worth it? Yes absolutely, give them a try..
