I'm sorry to say that our visit today was less than acceptable. I'm a big Wetherspoon fan and have always had a good experience until now. We took a table outside which had 113 on it (admittedly the sticker had come off, but the number was there). We ordered two meals and two drinks on the app. After approx 10 minutes a girl appeared with one glass of wine at another table. There was a shake of a head at that table and I tried to get her attention, but she disappeared. A few minutes later our meals arrived at the same wrong table, again a shake of the head so I did manage to alert her to our table. I then said that we were still waiting for drinks. She them informed us that we were sat at 118 and that the table numbers had changed. How on earth were we to know this? I then went back inside to ask where my pint of beer was, and was then told that this beer was not available, when were they going to inform me? I ordered a different drink and went back to my table. At this point my wife had noticed that her wine glass had lipstick marks on it. We informed the waitress about this and her reply was 'that's happened a few times today!' I then asked about my second requested pint and was told that this beer was also unavailable. I then had to order a third drink which eventually came. Now I know that the pubs are only just opened again after the pandemic and I'm sure that things are a little different for both staff and customers, but come on Wetherspoons, these are simple things...
Read moreVery stuck up waitress upset my family. My elderly father has given up smoking after 50 years and he had his vapour on the table. We are well aware of Wetherspoons rules regarding not smoking these in their public houses & he had no intention of using it. The waitress launched into him about how she was pregnant & he would harm her unborn child (yes this is the same girl who is serving alcohol in a public house!) pointed out we were sitting in a family area near to innocent children! I would again like to point out that he had NO intention of using this vapour indoors. It was a very ark ward situation & when he tried to defuse if with a joke she launched into him again. I complained to the Landlord & got no where. He just said that his staff have arguments everyday regarding vapours. With this attitude I have no reason to doubt him! Still very upset. Still proud of Dads achievement. Still understand the rules. May be the Waitress needs to consider a career change. The Landlord needs a course in Customer Service or he will soon have no customers to service! My family always came here for meals but...
Read moreFirst time we went in was early evening, we were sitting quite happy till this small blonde girl came up to us and said she had to take away my chair for company policy as it was a health and safety issue. I said I needed the chair for my health and safety, she laughed and said, well unless you're disabled, and she just looked at me. I said I have lung disease and needed to sit down (pub was full and no other seats available, and I was sat in a seating area. She told me she had to take it and I would have to stand. We were soo upset we left our drinks to go somewhere else. Before all that happened we noticed a group of five people quite happily vaping then to our left another group of four sat vaping, the whole time a bouncer stood watching them and said nothing. As far as I know, vaping in a public building is illegal. This isn't the first time we've noticed people vaping in there, what is the point in having a law and ignore it?the staff and management (the girl who turfed me off my chair,I believe was the manager) and door staff need more training on customer service...
