Really disappointing experience. Had booked a table for Fathers Day, had a lovely time initially, got a round of drinks in and then ordered pizzas on the second round. We were told it would be a 45 min wait which was fine but we let them know that we did have people in our group who were catching a train and they told us they would prioritise those pizzas and get them to us in 30 mins and then rest in 45. We waited for 45 mins with still no pizzas and were told it would be another 15 mins. We then waited another 15 mins at which point we were told it would be another 15mins wait and that our pizzas were now 7th in the queue (so 15 mins didnt seem long enough). We ended up cancelling 3 of the pizzas (as by this point other people in our group also had to leave) leaving our parents to eat their pizzas by themselves, an hour and 45 mins after ordering (they did receive a free pint and lemonade by the staff). Understand the serving staff were trying to be accommodating and were very apologetic for the delays but wish someone had just been more realistic with timeframes in the first instance as it meant people left for long train journeys and drives home without eating and had no time to get something else...
Read moreWe booked a table, in advance, for food and drinks and first impressions as we arrived at the bar was the stench of stale urine whilst ordering but didn’t think too much of it. But after a beer or two I needed the loo and oh my God; the state of the toilet was unbearable, in my personal opinion. There was not a single urinal available - all were covered up. I assume the wet floor was urine give the smell.
When ordering our drinks at the bar, we were advised that despite our booking being 4pm, food would not be available until at least 4:30pm.
Food was ok, drinks were ok. But that’s about as good as it got I’m afraid. Having been to several BrewDog locations, nothing has come close to the experience at DogTap Ellon. If I’m honest, everywhere else just seems to be sub-par. Carlisle - definitely wasn’t it. I think if this was someone’s first BrewDog visit, it would also be their last.
The whole time we sat at our table (2 hours) no one collected a single empty glass or our finished food. Definitely not a great experience. Bearing in mind the bar was practically empty the whole time, I can’t find a reason as to why this wasn’t...
Read moreVisited here with a pal last Saturday. Think this is the nicest brewdog I've been in. From the outside, it looks small but it has a definite tardis effect when you enter - going really far back, with loads of seating and comfy booths. As is usual in brewdog, you can try a little of something before settling on your chosen brew. In this case, we chose the lazy lager and the dead pony club. Both great 😊. We decided to stay for a second drink, and also ended up sharing a pizza. Oh my - that pizza - delicious, fresh and well priced at about £9. We found the staff to be super helpful and knowledgeable - from the chap who served us at the bar, to the lovely girl we chatted to about our visit to Carlisle- she gave us all the Intel we needed about carlisle castle and cathedral. This visit was so good, I went back later when i met up with my other half and enjoyed another fine brew! Well done on this...
