I drove nearly 45 minutes to visit 40Cha Taiwanese Bubble Tea in Loughborough, based on glowing reviews that claimed it was superior to their Derby branch. Unfortunately, my experience was nothing short of a nightmare.

Upon arriving ahead of time, I was met by a server who was not only rude but outright obnoxious. When I attempted to place an order, she bluntly stated, “I don’t know how to make drinks. I just close up.” Shocked, I explained the considerable distance I had travelled to visit their establishment, hoping for some understanding or courtesy. Instead, she laughed in my face and repeatedly said, “I don’t know. I don’t know.”

I have never encountered such unprofessional and disrespectful behaviour from someone representing a business. It was utterly disgraceful and left me feeling both angry and disgusted.

Given the recurring nature of similar complaints in other Google reviews, it is evident that this is not an isolated incident. I strongly urge the management to either retrain their staff or consider rehiring individuals who are capable of providing basic customer service.

Very poor service. Ordered for a pick up twice in Uber Eats twice already. The first experience is a scheduled order and went there 10 mins late of the schedule, however still to wait for like another 10 mins to get my order, when the reason I ordered for pick up is so that I will not wait anymore. The second experience today is I went there and my order is ready, however when I asked the guy about my order since I can see that it is ready by placing my order in the front. I say my name since it cleary says just mention my name when I will pick up, since I do it in every restaurant I ordered with. The drinks here can be great if you get the right staff member. There’s only one girl who actually cares and puts effort into making your drink properly. The rest of the time? You’re basically paying for very expensive water.

The inconsistency is next-level bad. I’ve gone in the middle of their operating hours, only to be told they’ve run out of ingredients, not because they’re busy, but because "the girl who knows how to make it isn’t working today." Laziness and terrible management.
