Laughing Buddha Restaurant — Restaurant in Charnwood

We have been going to the Laughing Buddha for years, the food has always been good and usually the service is OK, but we had a bad experience this time and the way the manager handled it was not good at all. The service on this occasion was very slow indeed, with us waiting 40 minutes between our starter plates being cleared away and receiving our main course. We chased it up several times during the 40 minute wait, each time we were told it was "just coming" - clearly a lie. The second time we chased it the response was quite abrupt. At the end of the meal there was no apology and no gesture offered, so I raised my dissatisfaction with the waitress who said dismissively "There's nothing I can do, do you want the manager?" When the manager came, she was very defensive and said "We've only got two chefs in the kitchen and they are very busy with takeaways...". Not only was there no apology again, but what an excuse! So takeaway customers are clearly more important than those of us paying full price in...

My wife and I came here for our wedding anniversary meal. We'd had takeaway food from here several times but this was our first visit to eat in the restaurant and we weren't disappointed. We had a very friendly greeting on arrival and were offered a choice of table. The interior of the restaurant is clean, smart and well kept. A very pleasant eating area. We ordered our food and drinks and were given a plate of prawn crackers with sweet chilli dip as an appetiser which were a good combination. The mixed seafood hors doevres were fresh tasty and not too filling. The mains (king prawn dish and a beef dish) were also very fresh and tasty, even better than when delivered to home. We couldn't finish all the mains and the waitress was happy to box up the leftovers. The service was attentive without being overbearing. The bill came to £70 for four drinks, starters and two mains so isn't the cheapest but, given the quality of the food, we considered it to be good value. We'll definitely...

Went into this place Ordered meal for two at 7.30pm paid for it to be delivered as they said it would be a 40miniute wait.9.30pm we're still waiting for our food baring in mind they shut at 9.30pm on a Friday (which this was) we rang obviously concerned that our order hadn't been delivered, guy on the phone kept us on hold for a further 10mins clearly panicking because our order had been forgotten! Told it would be delivered in 25MINUITES no apology offered, or explanation. Food turned up 35 minutes later. It was not worth the wait! Duck was fatty, overcooked, salt&Pepper chips were just normal chips,etc suffice to say I will not be ordering from this establishment again, abysmal service, (If u can call this service) terrible food, and I'm sceptical about the 5star reviews for this place I would rate it 1star AT BEST AND THATS BEING...
