Oodles Wok Loughborough — Restaurant in Charnwood

Went here for a take away, we asked if the vegetarian food was cooked separately to the meat. The staff said the meat was kept separately but they used the same wok to cook all the food in. He then said they are rinsed every time.

We ordered our vegetarian food anyway as we saw them add water and swirl it around the wok. Took the food home, plated it. After eating nearly most of it I chewed a big piece of chicken, was extremely annoyed and angry that people are so careless because it's not something they believe in.

When I returned it within a second or 2 the caucasian male said to me 'that doesn't look like it's from here' I said to him I'm hardly going to waste my time come all the way back to make something up, I said I have better things to do with my life, I said where did the chicken come from then the sky?'

After he examined it for a minute I stated it was very rude implying that I had somehow put the chicken in myself. He said he didn't mean that but not sure what he meant by that statement.

After another 2 staff members examined it, I asked him again are you denying it came from here, he then confirmed it did and he apologised and then refunded my money.

I explained that it was unacceptable of him immediately telling me it hadn't come from there, he apologised again and he offered to take my details for some sort of response. I declined as this put me off from eating from there again.

I ordered online and arrived about 30 minutes later, food wasn't ready, considering its paid for, I don't understand why. I was told it woud be prepared now.

I was disappointed as most of the food was kept warm in Bain Marie' and just packed, I was expecting it to be freshly cooked. Hence no surprise, it was barely warm by the time I got home some 20 minutes later.

I didn't like the way everything is mixed together, but I suppose this what they do. I like my crispy chicken, crispy and my fries like fries, not covered in a hot artificially coloured sweet red sauce. Similar with the noodle and egg fried rice' dishes, all flavours were mixed up and pretty much indistinguishable from each of the dishes.

It did leave me concerned around my allergies, which I hadn't mentioned because I hadn't sn't ordered those dishes but other members of the family did.

I appreciate this may well work well in a restaurant but not so good for a takeout.

Hate to be that person but im so disappointed right now. Not only did I order my food way over an hour before it came ( said 30 mins delivery) I got cold food, cold chips, spring rolls chicken & sauce! I also got rice ( unsure what rice) luckily I have no allergies 😅 ( I ordered noodles) im unsure how they get it so wrong, time & time again. My label says noodles, I get we're human & things happen but working in the food industry you rely on good food so customers return. I called up twice once to ask how long it would be to be told it had left but thats all & i asked if it will be hot when it came to be told 'yes' well it wasnt. My second call was to speak about the wrong order&the cold temperature of my food & wanted ro offer me discount or something off my next order. Erm, I wont be ordering again.
