The Lemon Tree — Restaurant in Chelmsford

Seems to have recently changed ownership- there's no indication of this before you get there as the Facebook page is old with no recent updates, as well as the old menu is still up online when you Google it and when you look it up on google maps- so we had no idea how much it had changed, and the new menu was so different it wasn't worth a try for us as we wanted something familiar as we had been to the old version of the lemon tree before and knew we all liked the food.

That's not the reason for the 1 star review though. 6 quid for 2 cokes, wasn't even a good size, just a small standard 330ml glass bottle. And we didn't even get any Ice for paying that much... after that we wouldn't have ordered food even if we did see something we liked to be honest. Felt disappointed and...

Total waste of my time. Went in at 1pm was seated then proceeded to order me and my wife 2 coffees and a cold drink. You'd think simple enough. 25 minutes later, No coffee and no cold drinks. The woman who took our order then came over and said.... "sorry I lost your order, would you like to re order". Hold on. We ordered 3 drinks!! So. Advice for the owners. If you don't want people sitting in your establishment just for drinks at lunch time, PUT UP A SIGN, rather than treating us like idiots! Bad business! What sort of café doesn't serve bacon????

They have sausages and ham in their breakfast so it's not a vegetarian/religious reason!!

.... I asked for a bacon sandwich and she said they don't do bacon!

So I asked for toast & butter with jam instead and (1) it's not butter it's some cheap spread and (2) the toast came ready spread which I HATE , I like to put my own on!
