The Cosy Club is a set of franchised establishments that aims to be a breakfast/brunch cafe and boozy lunch spot, that evolves into your evening cocktail bar as the day progresses. The 1930s New York Jazz bar vibes has some heavy velvet and black and white photos, with just enough chandeliers to keep Sia happy. I’d say the decor and vibe is a bit like someone ordered Harlem’s famous Cotton Club on Temu, but it’s quirky, eclectic and easy to forgive. Cheltenham’s Cosy Club is in The Brewery Quarter, and I’ve walked past it a lot, but on this day the offer of something cosy and out of the horrendous downpour of rain helped make our decision for us. I was genuinely surprised by the quality of the snacks we ordered, and would happily head back for more. The Mozzarella & Ricotta Arancini had balanced earthy flavours with the right amount of crisp and cheese. Sometimes arancini can be stodgy but these were great. The Halloumi & Hot Honey was simple with the right amounts of salty and sweet, this is becoming a popular dish, the Woozy Pig’s version is way better and still a benchmark but these still hit a spot. The Pulled Beef & Smoked Bacon Croquettes were my favourite of the three, they hit the right notes for richness and depth without overplaying it - the bacon was there but didn’t take it over. I liked them a lot. I wasn’t familiar with Monkey Bread, so asked the waiter what it was and he said “it’s bread, that you rip at like a monkey.” Makes sense I guess. It was very yummy bread and the butter it comes with evolves it beyond a primate dish. The wait staff were friendly, attentive and helpful, making sure we enjoyed our experience. It’s a big open space and has a well appointed bar and looks like it can do small groups like ours and some larger sized ones. While I will always try and support local, non-franchise operations, anyone doing anything in hospitality and hiring good people to do yummy things deserves our patronage. Had a lovely visit and will definitely visit again.

Nice ambience but a but disappointed with the service. We’ve been here for dinner on a really quiet night, we took our time to look at the menu, but at the time of ordering we were made aware that the chosen dish was not available. Ok, it happens, we chose something else, list the whole order to the waiter that does not read it back and then start waiting. For quite a while. Then the starter come out with an extra dish we never ordered. The waiter brings it back to the kitchen and we proceed eating. Then, moving on to the mains, there was another quite long wait and we never received a check back, so couldn’t ask for some extra sides we wanted to add to the order or second drinks. When was time to pay we realised that there was an extra cocktail on the bill that we never ordered, once this was fixed we specified we wanted to split the bill 3 ways and specified how much each would be paying, but still I was charged a slightly different amount, but at that point I was a bit too annoyed to let them know. Being my first visit at the Cosy Club I was a bit disappointed… But I have to say that the food was nice and I really enjoyed the starters.

I visited Cosy Club for the first time with a friend of mine and the food was absolutely amazing. I had the dirty chicken burger (as a pregnant woman who was very hungry), it was absolutely delicious although I did feel very stuffed after but it was definitely worth it. We did have to go up to the bar to order ourselves, they don’t do table service but they do bring the food to the table when it’s ready. However, the lady who took the order on the bar was really lovely. The decor is well done and the atmosphere is great. I do love the big windows as well (as they are great for people watching 😂). The food actually came pretty quickly which was surprising but the food was truly delicious, I definitely will go back again. The way the food compliments each other is wonderful. I had the truffle & cheese fries with my chicken burger and we ordered the bread and salted butter as a starter (it was pretty much a loaf of bread that came out). Great value for money too. Fantastic food.

Most staff were like headless chickens, genuinely seemed confused as to where they were. We booked a table of 9 for breakfast and when we arrived we must of been one of a handful of tables.

We were served via 4 different staff and experienced multiple issues.

Firstly, they forgot 2 drinks and they took over 45 mins to arrive. (No exaggeration)

Secondly one of our table ordered a soya latte, they asked if she had an allergy and she said she was lactose intolerant. Then due to this they refused to serve her pancakes for breakfast. (Staff need educating on the difference between an allergy and a intolerance, this is genuinely concerning) to follow this up she then changed her mind to a standard fry up. The staff member then came back to say he will be giving her a vegan breakfast without explanation or giving her the choice, then disappeared before she could respond. (Really bizarre) Later we had to ask why and it was clarified that the scrambled egg had milk in (although the scrambled egg was optional, they didnt attempt to offer poached or fried eggs or no eggs etc.) Finally we had to go over to the till to change this order as she didn't want the vegan breakfast. The forgotten drinks then arrived with the waiter saying, here is your cappuccino, which she responded "hot chocolate?" Which the staff member responded to by dropping it on the table and saying "sounds about right" which is baffling since earlier they were so strict relating to allergies.

Once (most of) the food arrived we realised that they had then taken our order down incorrectly so we had to wait for one order and by the time the forgotten food had arrived everyone else had finished eating.

I think due to embarrassment the staff were changed again and someone else took over serving the table. Who then told us they had taken the forgotten meal off the menu to compensate us. When checking the receipt we realised that they had taken off the new item but left on the original wrong item that was more expensive, so the bill was actually more expensive than it should be, not cheaper.

They eventually discounted the receipt taking off the missed food and late drinks. Then another new member of staff took payment.

Overall very poor service, would not recommend, a shame as we have visited another Cosy club recently in Coventry and the service...

I'm going to be as honest and fair as I can with this review, Yesterday we visited as a group of 11 that we prebooked. I understand this is a fairly large group but the business had notice, however since it was a big group I'd allow a little bit of leeway. Firstly the drinks & The food we had was really nice and the staff were friendly. However the speed of service was terribly slow, as previously stated I understand we were a large booking but the venue wasn't busy at all with quite a few staff on, Our first round of drinks we all ordered cocktails so we expected a wait. It took close to 40 minutes for the first round of drinks to arrive, The drinks didn't arrive until the Starters did. Because of the wait when they arrived we put another drinks order in of faster serve items (bottles beers, spirit & mixer etc) This also took close to 30 minutes to arrive. At this point the mains started to arrive but we still had starter plates on the table as they weren't cleared, During this time we requested 3 times for some table water and it wasn't until the 3rd time asking a member of staff brought over 1 small jug that would have possibly done 3-4 glasses of water for a table of 11. The food and drink was actually really good but the wait was far too long. We decided not to order anymore drinks or deserts because of the wait time, I'd imagine we'd of had another 2-3 drinks each + deserts easily if the service was quicker. Food 4/5 Drinks 4/5 Service 2/5 Speed of Service 1/5

So I'd say a generous...
