During Easter, my family visited Bicester to see relatives and friends. Along the way, we noticed that Wimpy restaurant was bustling with customers, which led us to believe it was a popular dining spot. Therefore, we decided to stop by on the Monday bank holiday around noon. We ordered five different burgers, two servings of fries, a bottled water, and took advantage of the buy one get one free offer on Wimpy Whirls. While the burgers were tasty, the Quarter Pounder here couldn't quite match the juiciness of the Whopper at Burger King. The Wimpy Whirls on the buy one get one free deal were also enjoyable. However, I observed that every customer at the counter, regardless of whether they had children with them, was offered a bucket to draw an item, presumably an Easter egg. Surprisingly, when it was our turn to pay, neither of our children received the same treatment, despite our interest in the bucket not being acknowledged. I'm unsure if this was due to us not ordering drinks for everyone or if they had run out of Easter eggs. I certainly hope it wasn't because of our Hong Kong...
Read moreVery friendly and accommodating. My mother is staying in the nearby hospital and not eating the food there. She requested a cheese and onion toastie - where the hell was I going to find one of those? Couldn't make one at home and bring it, I'm an hour away, it would be revolting by the time I got there. I spotted the Wimpy in the square when collecting one of her meals from a nearby Chinese and googled their menu to see what I might be able to tempt her with. Toasties! They had toasties, cheese and onion ones no less! Sadly only on the eat in menu but when I called and asked about a takeaway it wasn't a problem. She enjoyed it thoroughly. Still hot and crisp by the time I got it to her, she enthused about it between every mouthful. Tonight I'll be looking at bringing her one of their breakfasts. Again not on the takeaway menu (because you can't stick an egg or beans in a paper bag) but I'm told if I provide a plate and foil, they'll see what they can do....
Read moreThank you so much, you guys, for the nostalgic trip down memory lane😂😂😂 It has been 30 years since I had been to a Wimpy, I still recall the birthday parties of the 70s/80s! Professional staff, exceptionally clean and very COVID-19 aware. Ordered both the international grill and the wimpy grill, to which the server asked how many are eating😂 Just me! I managed to finish it all apart from the chips, but I so enjoyed every bite as I did in the 70s/80s. They were accommodating when I asked to modify the wimpy grill, just brilliant. And being a pig, I had to order the Bender in the Bun for old times sake, as a takeaway…. And the young gentleman had timed it perfectly for my collection, just as I had stuffed my face👍👏👏👏Also loved the modern diner decor. Would come here more often but I live miles away. Thanks, Wimpy Bicester, wish you all the best for the future. PS, I did polish off the final bender and the...
