First of all I was waiting for over 20 minutes to be served its fairly normal to wait a while. However while I was waiting I got to see an exchange between a member of staff and two just eat drivers. The KFC member of staff had been trying to contact a customer about a substitute they had made because they were out of cans of tango, but could not get through. While she was sorting that order out she had to get the first driver to fetch the second who was outside, she was not happy as the order was ready and going cold. The driver then walked in a placed the KFC bag in his hot bag, she asked him to hold the KFC bag from the bottom and then close his bag to keep the heat in, she could not see but I could that his bag had no top, the driver seamed not to care much which the KFC staff member was not happy about. The second order with the substitute was then ready and she asked the driver to make sure the customer got the note explaining why she had had to substitute. While she was doing this she was shouted at by another member of staff as there were by now quite a few of us waiting. After she got the just eat orders away she moved back to helping out (there was two staff serving although one seamed to like a chat with the customers, normally fine but not good when you have such a big que) she was told by the other member of staff that she should not get wound up and that it's not her job. She explained that it is, as if the order is wrong or cold it will reflect badly on the store. I thought I was wrong for this member of staff to give the college a hard time when she was just making sure customers were looked after. So although I was waiting as I say 20 minutes, my food was hot and tasty, and I got to see someone you actually cares about her job and the impression the store has on customers. I have no problems waiting for someone who will do the job right and with dedication. So the five stars to the staff member that, cares....
Read moreThere were 2 young ladies who were being interviewed/lectured by, who I assume, was the Manageress of the diner. She was fairly loud with what she was saying, but the most annoying part of her lecture and it's something that has crept into the English language over the past couple of years was the word ... "LIKE" as in such chat as... "well, it was LIKE something, LIKE, you know what I mean, yet another phrase that is used after every few words. ... "you know what I mean" it's LIKE, well, I, LIKE, know that you want to, LIKE, get this sort of thing, LIKE, it's just the right thing, LIKE, I just have to let you know. To be honest, I was wondering if the Manageress was LIKE, someone who isn't native to England, with a limited English vocabulary, except she had a Derbyshire/South Yorkshire accent. I was thinking of spending some time in the diner and do a bit of Internet surfing while I was having my food, but I couldn't wait to get out of the premises, because it was LIKE, being subjected to "Japanese Water Torture". Regarding the food itself, I had the Boneless Box Meal and a side order of MiniBites with BBQ sauce. Reasonable tastewise although not as warm as what it should have been. If I had had it as a takeaway instead, it would have been cold before I had got to the traffic lights at the KFC/TESCO roundabout. All in all, disappointing. It was my 2nd visit to that particular diner, I think it will be a while before I visit again, especially as I have a good KFC diner at Crystal Peaks/Drakehouse that's only 3 miles...
Read moreHonestly the place is pretty nice and the food is always good but i cannot recommend them while they are partners with an obvious scam car parking company. The time to get the food is too long and sometimes the order is missing an item etc but i could forgive this.
I received a ticket for staying more than an hour, 25 mins of my time was queuing to get my food due to the huge amount of Deliveroo or similar services in there at the time. Not that it would have made a difference as the sign regarding the car was not visible in the dark due to its location and it had been a long time since my last visit and I dont think they had these restrictions in place. These scam car park companies are the worst and i wont be using kfc again as long as they are partnered with one of them. Its also worth noting that including me and my friends (who I had not since for nearly 2 years) there were a total of 2 tables in use the rest of the people coming and going were food delivery services.
I contacted KFC's care squad who assured me they would take care of the issue. However, they did nothing, I then received another letter from the scam car park company now demanding more money. I contacted care squad again, who again told me they would sort it, having heard nothing since, I surprised that today 02/04/2022 I received yet another letter now demanding even more money and threatening to take me to court.
