Visited here a number of times in the past and generally been impressed; although the bar is small, there's a good selection of beers and service is friendly.
The last visit however was very disappointing, due to the attitude of a certain member of staff. We sat in the outside area and an intoxicated female walking past was heckled by some other customers, which then resulted in her harassing all of the tables and attempting to take drinks - this went on for over 45 minutes before eventually the police were called and she was ejected - this is unacceptable.
As the owner of two licensed premesis myself, the situation was handled very poorly and could of been resolved and nipped in the bud if managed correctly from the outset. An adjacent table from us began to film one member of staff trying (and failing) to verbally, and then physically eject the drunk. Upon seeing he was being filmed, the member of staff lost his temper and then swore at the customers, advising all other staff to serve no more drinks to them, and also us, as innocent witnesses. Our orders were then rejected by this member of staff, who wasn't even prepared to discuss with us and rudley dismissed any attempt at conversation. After explaing to the other two calm and reasoned members of staff, the situation was resolved and we were allowed to continue drinking.
Two stars for the two members of staff who understood the situation and were trying their best to resolve, and couldn't apologise enough for the misunderstanding when I discussed with them. The other member of staff however could benefit from further training on the licensing objectives and de-esculation tactics - I understand that we all have bad days, however there is no excuse for swearing at, and becoming confrontational with...
Read moreAfter a deeply disappointing experience at The Three Sisters next door, my friends and I were lucky to find DrewDog, and it completely salvaged our night. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
Our first interaction was with Jacob, the general manager, who immediately impressed us with his professionalism and genuine concern for our situation. Despite the rough start to our evening, Jacob took the time to listen to our story and made it his mission to turn things around for us. His kindness didn’t stop there—he even surprised us with two rounds of free shots, a generous gesture that went a long way in lifting our spirits.
Shortly after, Aidan stepped in and continued the positive vibe with his friendly and attentive service. While Jacob had already set the bar high, Aidan’s warm demeanor and care made us feel completely at ease and ensured we had a great time for the rest of the night.
Thanks to Jacob and Aidan, what could have been a night ruined by the events at The Three Sisters turned into a memorable experience filled with good vibes and great service. DrewDog is the kind of place where the staff truly cares about their patrons, and it shows in everything they do. If you’re looking for a bar that goes the extra mile, DrewDog is the place to be.
A huge thank you to Jacob and Aidan for making our night one to remember—we’ll...
Read moreI love going an spending an afternoon in brewdog. They have an amazing range of beers on draft and bottled. They get beers from all around the world as well as showcasing their own wonderful brews.
The staff are great and are more than happy to allow you to taste a different draft beer prior to buying a full measure of it. (Brewdog sell their stronger ales in smaller measures)
The beers range from very hoppy IPA (punk IPA a favourite of mine) through amber ales to the Imperial Stout range which I love (as does my wife who is not a beer fan).
The bar does a good range of food, pizzas are always freshly cooked and tasty, the cheeseboard (which can be cheese and meat unless like me you're vege) is lovely with 3 different cheeses as well as warm bread and range of oatcakes and chutney.
If you want a seat, I'd recommend going in the afternoon as when I've been in the evenings it can be hard to find a seat.
The awesome range of beers means that good beer related chat with people you've never met is only a sip of ale away.
They often run meet the brewer evenings, cake and beer (what can possibly go wrong there??), and have live music on occasionally too. They tend to announce these via their own social media outlets.
My advice, get some time, get some money and go along and sample the range. I don't think you'll drink 'standard' beer and...
