Coffee Tepuy is a true gem in the heart of Edinburgh and a must-visit for anyone who appreciates authentic, high-quality coffee. Specialising in Colombian coffee, this café brings something genuinely unique to the city’s coffee scene. From the moment you arrive, there’s an inviting warmth in the atmosphere that immediately sets it apart from other spots. The décor is modern yet cozy, with thoughtful touches that reflect the cultural roots of Colombian coffee-making. It feels both welcoming and special—a place where you can relax, slow down, and savour an experience rather than just a drink.
What impressed me most was the quality and consistency of the coffee. Coffee Tepuy is clearly passionate about sourcing premium beans directly from Colombia, and the results speak for themselves. I started with a flat white, which was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. The espresso had depth and character, with subtle notes of chocolate and caramel that lingered beautifully. Later, I tried one of their pour-over options, and it was even more remarkable—clean, fragrant, and complex, showcasing the incredible flavours that single-origin Colombian coffee has to offer. It was one of those cups that makes you stop mid-sip just to appreciate the craftsmanship behind it.
The food options also deserve praise. I sampled one of their freshly baked pastries alongside my coffee, and it paired wonderfully. The menu has a selection of light bites and treats, all of which looked delicious and thoughtfully prepared. Everything felt fresh and carefully chosen to complement the coffee experience. It’s clear that Coffee Tepuy is about more than just serving drinks—they’ve created a holistic café experience where every detail matters.
Service here is another highlight. The staff are warm, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable about coffee. They’re always happy to explain the different beans, brewing methods, and flavour profiles, which adds a personal and educational element to the visit. I never felt rushed or like just another customer; instead, I felt genuinely welcomed and valued. Their passion for Colombian coffee is contagious, and it makes the whole experience even more enjoyable.
The café is also very well maintained. Clean, organised, and thoughtfully laid out, it offers a great environment whether you’re popping in for a takeaway or sitting down to work or catch up with friends. The background music and overall ambience strike a perfect balance between lively and relaxing, making it a versatile space for different occasions.
What I particularly love about Coffee Tepuy is its authenticity. It’s not just a café that happens to serve Colombian beans—it feels like a celebration of Colombian coffee culture, delivered with pride and care. That authenticity makes it stand out in a city filled with coffee options.
In summary, Coffee Tepuy is a fantastic addition to Edinburgh’s café scene. With its outstanding specialty Colombian coffee, delicious food options, warm service, and welcoming atmosphere, it’s the kind of place that quickly becomes a favourite. Whether you’re a serious coffee enthusiast or simply someone who enjoys a great cup in a cozy environment, Coffee Tepuy is well worth a visit. I can’t recommend it highly enough, and I know I’ll be returning...

The Columbian coffee is simply fantastic. It makes you regret those other coffee choices made previously. Well, some of them, let's not be too dramatic.
Let's be practical instead and point out you can eat in or get the coffee to go. I did on my first trip and had finished the whole recyclable cup after only one block.
I also picked up a lovely slice of Victoria sponge. That was fresh and decadent in all the good ways
Food is something the website doesn't make here. You can come here to buy coffee to grind. You can also come for a sit down, coffee to drink and a cake.
July 2023 - I visit as often as I can, generally around once a week. I've not seen food on sale in months. The good news is the coffee is great and this ethical independent now lets you pick from a range of Columbian beans thanks to their single shot grinder.
March 2024 - really good for people who care about their coffee
[February 2025 - still 5 star, I come almost every week and therefore do well on their...

Just wanted to say that the last two times I have had beans ground and asked them to be ground for espresso and seem to have just been put through on the wrong setting. Second time I've wound up having to improvise what to do with my coffee since it is unusable in an espresso maker.
Not had this problem until recently, perhaps a problem with the grinder? Either way, more just disappointing because the coffee is so good and I was really looking...
