BLUF. Beware of the 15% non-discretionary service charge which is on the menu but not transparent or clearly displayed anywhere else, not happy as it's just a way to squeeze more money, without anything in return. But the food is decent, not the best halal smash burgers in town but some good items on the menu. If you go for a combo it is good VFM. We visited late night on a Sunday, place was virtually empty, we were sitting in. On entry not much of a greeting so we shouted to staff behind the counter "we are sitting over there" and seated ourselves. A few mins later someone came over and told us we need to order at the till or self-service screen, so we did. Food. Ordered the Ballers Combo which was for two (and includes 2x original smash burgers, loaded fries, onion rings, chicken goujons and stir fried donner, also ordered an extra smash burger meal as we were three). Everything came on plastic trays in disposable boxes with plastic cutlery. Decent patty size on the smash but the ones in the combo box were a little cold on delivery, presumably because the other stuff took longer to make/ fry. Burger, good taste and I've had it before so I know they can do good hot burgers for takeway! The rings had a generous serving of nacho cheese on them, good portion size of goujons and excellent loaded fries, topped with cheese, smash patty (and a little brisket). Not a fan of the stir fried donner, could be replaced with something else? Apart from the smash burgers everything seems to be made/ fried from frozen not freshly made. Interior. Very clean and decorated to a high standard and it's a nice place to sit and eat. I would go back, if they delete the service charge as I don't really know what it's for... we were not greeted on entry, we sat ourselves down, we got up to order our own food and it was all served on disposable cutlery/ boxes. No issues with serving staff, they were pleasant throughout.

Simply the best tasting halal beef burger in the city

The best place for late- night food! Ever stayed awake for far too long and suddenly you were craving fast food ? That’s the place for you. The food is not amazing, not breathtaking, it’s pretty much exactly what you hope for. The beef isn’t dry, it tastes like a burger that is trying to be amazing (and please I mean this in a very good way!) all I can say is, at 2am, this should taste heavenly tho. Their fries on the other hand, actually amazing! I strongly recommend the waffle fries! One thing to critique tho: they were a bit slow, only a few customers and the order still took a decent amount of time. Also their device to order for yourself is really frustrating. Why is not Apple Pay? A QR code leading to a website where I put my card information in, just seems very weird and inconvenient, ended up cancelling my order on the device and ordered at the checkout.

Saturday 14th December 2024 Fatt Boyz Burgers Bread St ,Edinburgh .

So been meaning to come here for a while and my son was desperate for us to try it .

Had 2 Fatt Boy burger meals with waffle fries and a portion of Chicken Tenders in Piri Piri Sause with drinks and 2 Kinder Bueno Milkshakes . The burger was according to my son and I agree probably the best burger we have had , it’s packed with meats & sauses and tasted amazing . The patties were cooked to perfection ,tender & tasty . The waffle fries with Piri Piri salt were great tasting too and there was a lot of them . Wanted to try the Chicken Tenders too but we really didn’t need them and only had 2/3 and got the rest boxed up to take home , this was a really filling meal. The milkshakes were fantastic, tasted great and we took them away with us too as just couldn’t drink them after such a filling meal .

In the area that Fatt Boyz are in and the quality of the burger the prices were very reasonable . In the city centre you expect to pay a little more . The resturant was busy and even more so with the amount of deliveries being made . Staff were friendly, polite and the resturant was clean & tidy .

Well done to all , your service and food was amazing and we will definitely be back. Would recommend to anyone who loves a...

We stopped by Fatt Boyz Smashing Burger during our vacation in Edinburgh, and it did not disappoint! The food was incredibly fresh, packed with bold flavors, and served in generous portions—exactly what you'd want from a smash burger joint.

We tried the Classic Smash, The Fatt Boy, and the Smoked Brisket Melt—each one juicy, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The burgers were clearly made with care, and every bite was delicious. The crinkle fries and waffle fries, seasoned with masala, cajun, and peri spice blends, were the perfect crispy sidekicks.

The sauces deserve a shout-out too—each one was unique and incredibly tasty, elevating everything we dipped into them. And the milkshakes? Wow. The Oreo Biscoff and Ferrero Rocher shakes were rich, indulgent, and a hit with the whole family.

A fun bonus: the Buzzer Beater game adds a playful, exciting twist—you get a chance to win a free meal if you sink the shot. It’s a great touch that adds to the overall experience.

Service was excellent, the restaurant was clean, and the staff was warm, welcoming, and eager to make our visit enjoyable.

If you're in Edinburgh and craving a great burger in a fun, casual atmosphere, Fatt Boyz Smashing Burger is a must-try. We’ll definitely be back next time...
