Let's start by saying, if you want some entertainment whilst waiting for your food, read some of the insanely laugh out loud reviews! I felt like someone was tickling me with a feather the entire time! Moving on! We walked in and were greeted by a member of staff who grabbed two menu's and took us to a table. The table selection was well thought out. We wasn't just seated at the nearest free table or a 2 seater table (there was 2 of us), instead we was seated at a spacious 4 seater. The staff member explained that it is table service, however payment is by card only and that when we are finished, we just scan the QR Code and pay online. Perfect, no issues there. We possibly were left slightly too long, but I'm not complaining as everywhere we go they seem to be in a rush to take our orders. A gentleman with a crisp white shirt was flourishing around the tables so we hollered and asked if we could order. He couldn't have been more polite and 2 seconds later returned. Introducing Tim the General Manager - a.k.a The Slimline Nutty Proffesor. What a guy. Super friendly, incredibly crazy but so welcoming. Greeted us by saying 'Hello Humans' 😂 Took our order and quite happily explained that Gordon Ramsay Street Food is on par with the likes of Wagamama etc but with a menu curated by Michellin star chefs. He slipped in a wee upsell asking if we wanted some onion rings and we declined....what a mistake!! We wished we had tried them now. Tim finished by telling us where the restrooms were and that the arcade games are free of charge and if you beat the highscore you get a free ice cream but that some young wizz kid came in and set a super high, highscore. A short wait later the food arrived. O.M.G - The Koffman (regular) fries were sensational! And the burger.....*pauses to stop dribbling* We Will definitely be back. For the negative nancies who complain about the prices, expecting gold plated burger buns with diamond encrusted burgers - A burger and fries at Five Guys cost you £16-18 and here at Gordon Ramsay Street Food you are getting a Burger and Fries and table service (even from a nutty proffesor) for the same price! Keep up the good work guys!

Upon entering Gordon Ramsay's Street Burger at St. James's in Edinburgh, our anticipation soared as we anticipated a culinary adventure. However, our initial excitement was somewhat dampened as we found ourselves overlooked and disregarded by the staff upon arrival. After a brief ten-minute wait, during which the manager graciously accommodated us in the lounge area while tables were prepared, we finally settled into our dining experience. Surveying the menu, my gaze fixated on the tantalising prospect of indulging in the full racks of ribs. Eager to gauge the portion size, I sought clarification from our server, only to encounter a bewildered response indicating the dish was unavailable. Undeterred, I redirected my attention to the burger selection, hoping for a more straightforward encounter. Alas, even the simplicity of ordering a burger with fries proved to be an exercise in uncertainty. Despite the menu's explicit declaration of fries included with the burger, our server exhibited uncertainty, necessitating a consultation with the chef to confirm the matter. Regrettably, the service inconsistencies persisted as we awaited the arrival of water at our table, a request that went unfulfilled until expressly voiced. As our meals finally arrived, the culinary journey failed to ascend to the heights of expectation. The fare, while not unpleasant, failed to elicit any noteworthy admiration, settling instead into the realm of mediocrity. Despite the shortcomings experienced at Gordon Ramsay's Street Burger in St. James's, it is worth noting that a previous visit to their Covent Garden location left a significantly more positive impression. The service, alongside the quality of the cuisine, demonstrated a standard worthy of recommendation. Thus, while our recent experience may have fallen short of expectations, it is not indicative of the restaurant's overall capabilities, suggesting that a visit to another branch may yield a more satisfying dining experience.

A mixed feeling about this restaurant. With Gordon’s name on the door, you expected a certain level of services with that price. Booked a table in advance. Upon arrival, no one at the reception and waited for five minutes. The kitchen staff at the open kitchen saw us and ignored us, not the best first impression for a restaurant. We seated by the window table and ordered the drinks. The coke arrived and tasted just like soda water (completed not sweet), I asked the manager to check if their machine is ok but he wasn’t too fuzzy about the quality and replaced another drink for me without any explanation. Food arrived, burger is quite average and nothing too special about it. In the other hand, the fries was good and so is the Orion ring. We ordered two types of chicken wing to share, it was over cooked and quite dried. The sauce for the wings were also quite disappointing. During the lunch service, the staffs were talking at the open kitchen area loudly and were not taking care of the service probably. On the other hand, as it is an open kitchen, I think the kitchen staff should not be checking on his phone ever few minutes in such an unprofessional way. With both experiences to this restaurant and the other Gordon’s restaurant in Edinburgh, I would recommend to go the other one instead of Street Burger. It maybe a bit more pricey, but at least the service standard was good and the quality of the food was much better. I think the management for Street Burger cannot just rely on Gordon’s name, instead better training for the staffs and maintain a minimum professional service standard is needed. Overall, we paid around 120 pounds for 4 persons and probably not the wise idea to come back again.

To David the Manager,

Our meal tonight was £83. £83, I wish I had spent elsewhere!

My partner and myself were excited by the prospect of trying one of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants, how bitterly disappointing the experience was! Gordon Ramsay would have been ashamed to call the place one of his establishments!

To say that was some of the worst service I’ve had in a long time would be an understatement!

The gentleman who was waiting tables was not very good or attentive. We asked for one more minute to look at the menu and ten minutes later we were still sat waiting. I could sense there was somebody behind me and lo and behold the waiter was behind me, on his phone messaging somebody on Facebook messenger as I was at his phone height due to being sat on the chair.

I had to ask the waiter to put his phone away so he could take our order.

We asked the waiter if the side of mac and cheese had melted cheese on top as we were going to give some to our 16 month old daughter and stringy cheese can be a choking hazard. We were told no which we thought was strange as it usually does however we said ‘great’. I also asked for extra bacon on my burger at a cost of £3.50.

When the food arrived there was cheese on the macaroni and no bacon on my burger. The mac and cheese was replaced and they did bring me bacon however at that point I’d eaten half of my burger and I had to construct the rest and put the bacon on myself. (not world ending but when you’re spending £18 on burger and fries you expect it to be right).

Fortunately there was a glimmer of light over the whole experience, the waitress Jess who started at 5pm was very helpful when rectifying the mistakes made by the other waiter.

I did complain at the time and did assure Jess that it wasn’t a reflection of her however I would be putting a complaint in.

The TVs in the restaurant show you these lovely big burgers which look delicious, the reality is far from it. After a busy day walking around the city we ate the food as we were hungry however it’s safe to say we won’t be back. At least not to the restaurant in the Saint James Square.

We were told no money could be taken off the bill due to the poor service as the manager left at 5:30pm and he is the only one who can authorise this.

The total was £83 and even after complaining they still put on a 12.5% service charge, I did ask for this to be removed as I felt this was extremely cheeky after complaining.

My partner said she wishes we went to Five Guys, we would have got a better tasting, fresher burger at a fraction of the price.

In future I’ll listen to her!

If you do read this David, I hope...

Me and my girlfriend are big fans of gordons shows, so booked this in for valentines night. When we got there there was a crowd of about 5 other couples waiting in line stood in the doorway under a hot air vent. We were waiting there for about 30 minutes after our reservation time, whilst the one person slowly showed people to their tables. After finally being seen to, the guy gave us a rough run through of ordering process, QR codes... ridiculously out of touch, its a higher end burger restraunt charging 18 a plate and 8 a beer, youd expect to be served. We tried ordering through this app, my girlfriend wanted her burger not to have mustard and a ghurkin, fairly common preference, but couldnt make any such changes on the app, unable to continue we had to do the most insane thing and try to get a waiter to help take our order. That took way too long, not for lack of trying, so many times staff walked by us, one blatently looking over at us in the eye whilst we were asking them over, turning his head right back without acknowledging us. Later he did come back, where when we explained the situation he cut us off to get his tablet to go through the order. Thankfully, it didnt take too long to get the food to the table, the chefs clearly were keeping up well with the appaling front of house service, and the food wasnt too bad. Well, except that my girlfriends burger had a hair in it. We had other places to get to and thankfully another staff member saw to us quite quickly, offering to remake it and take it off the bill, we were starting to run out of time so just went on. As we flagged a staff member down to settle up, thankfully one of the burgers was removed, but there was a discreet service charge added on to which we only realised after. Its not normal to flatly say to a staff members face to remove the service charge, why is this an expectation; moreso, why is there a service charge at all when service is supposed to be done through an app!!!!! Clearly, not a good experience, we expected much more from a place like this, and were looking for other options when as soon as we sat down, we suggest you do the same before getting...
