I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the experience my partner and I had at your restaurant on 4th August 2024. While we have previously enjoyed our visits, this recent experience was unfortunately far below the standard we have come to expect.
Our dining experience began with the Wagyu Gyoza, which was served at 15:11. To our shock, one of the gyozas contained a large bone. My partner discreetly alerted the waiter to avoid any commotion, as we were seated next to a busy table. However, when the manager arrived, instead of offering an apology, she responded in an accusatory manner, implying disbelief that such a large bone could be in the meat. She went so far as to suggest that it might have come from our Beef Short Rib dish, which did not even arrive until 15:27, a full 16 minutes after the gyoza.
I would ask you to review your security footage, where you will clearly see my partner spitting the bone out and inspecting it in disbelief.
As if this wasn’t disappointing enough, we ordered two sushi dishes that were served over 40 minutes after our previous dish. By the time they arrived, we were no longer hungry. I have visited your establishment on busier occasions, and have never experienced such a delay.
Finally, when it came to settling the bill, the waiter informed us that two Pepsis had been removed as a gesture of goodwill. Frankly, this felt more like an insult than an apology, given the issues we encountered during our meal.
I hope you take this feedback seriously, as this experience has significantly affected our view of Sushi Samba. I look forward to hearing how you intend to address...
Read moreThe food was decent, no complaints there except for why is everything turning into Tapas? Seems a bit cash grabby to me. The service was appalling. I spoke to a member of bar staff about it. They came over, asked us for our drinks at the beginning which was fine. Dinner and starters didn't take long to get with us, but after that? I genuinely felt disgusted. I was looking around waiting to get the menu or even asked if I wanted another drink, waited for about 20 minutes, hadn't touched our food whatsoever and nothing. I explained this to the bar staff and the waiter came over and practically grovelled at my feet apologising saying how "I'm not from here." As if that has any relevance. You work here. Makes no odds. I said I wouldn't pay for a service that wasn't being met but I never slandered him as a person or his politeness. He was falling on his sword, saying that apparently his service was "horrible." I never ONCE said those words. When I tried to calmly explain that, he spoke over the top of me the entire time. Very disingenuous. I don't care if you're not "from" here. You WORK at a restraunt that costs a fortune. Act like it. I don't understand either what's up with the creepy atmosphere of these upscale restraunts. All the music sounds the same, it feels very dystopian. Maybe some people like that, but it felt devoid of any personality aside from the interior decor. Nah. Wouldn't recommend. Drinks were practically fully ice too which is the theme these days. Overpriced restraunt with a nice view and a tree in...
Read moreDined here to catch up with friends from up north. Heard good things so expected to be impressed and weren’t left disappointed. The restaurant wasn’t too busy but our server Ryan was magnificent, if you are able to request someone to look after you then I highly recommend this gentleman. Sometimes you go to these ‘fancy’ restaurants and feel that you are under pressure to spend a lot of money but Ryan valued quality over quantity. We were recommended to order the shrimp tempura and churrasco Rio grande which were sublime. We weren’t sure which wine would accompany the dishes we ordered and were told the Malbec would be a good wine. It really was a great wine to have with the meats and again thankful to Ryan for this recommendation. We are travelling to Dubai in September and have already booked in to dine at the Sushisamba restaurant there. The only disappointment we had was that we attended earlier in the day, although the views were incredible, we didnt manage to appreciate a great ‘buzz’ in the restaurant. One thing that this restaurant reminded me is that authentic, genuine hospitality and service is still alive and well. When you are speaking to random people you only know because you were chosen to dine next to them about how great the service and food is, you know it’s got character. Thank...
