Step into Pho in Edinburgh, and you’re not just dining out; you’re embarking on a culinary odyssey that redefines the very essence of Vietnamese cuisine. From the moment you cross the threshold, you’re enveloped in an atmosphere so electrifyingly vibrant, it feels like stepping into a gastronomic wonderland.
Josh, our server, was nothing short of a maestro in the symphony of service. With the grace of a ballet dancer and the attentiveness of a maestro, he orchestrated our dining experience with impeccable precision. His recommendations were nothing short of divine revelations, guiding us through a menu that felt like an epicurean treasure map.
The food? Simply celestial. Each dish was a masterpiece, crafted with such artistry and attention to detail that it bordered on the metaphysical. The pho itself was a revelation—an ethereal broth that danced with layers of flavor so complex, it could only be described as a liquid masterpiece. The delicate slices of beef, tender and perfectly seasoned, were like little nuggets of joy swimming in a fragrant, aromatic sea.
The music—oh, the music!—was a euphoric backdrop that transformed the dining room into a haven of auditory bliss. Each note seemed to perfectly complement the flavors on our plates, creating a harmonious fusion that made every bite an exquisite celebration.
In short, Pho in Edinburgh isn’t merely a restaurant; it’s a transcendent experience that elevates dining to an art form. If there were a culinary Olympus, Pho would undoubtedly be its crown jewel. For a night of unparalleled dining, where every moment feels like magic, Pho is not just a choice—it’s the...
Read moreWe're from Singapore and on our last night in Edinburgh, we were craving for hot soup as it was rainy and cold all day. Immediately made a beeline for Pho and upon arrival, were whisked to our table and asked if we had any food allergies before leaving us to order. We got the summer rolls, a de rigeur Viet item for us and my partner had the mix beef combo pho and I had the Pho House. Food arrived shortly and to be honest, everything was delicious esp the summer rolls, except we had an issue with the sliced steak which was extremely tough. We weren't the only table and before we said anything, Danielle came over to ask and immediately got the manager Vido to attend to us. Vido was so empathetic and laser focused on solving the issue, offering to switch out the pho for both of us. No excuses, just a genuine apology and full on top notch service to ensure we were taken care of. We settled for a bowl of brisket instead of a full change and he was on it instantly. Later, Danielle came by to check on us again and I also observed that Vido was on the phone and later had a quick word with the kitchen staff. Seemed like he was ensuring that the issue of the steak was resolved. I really have to highly commend them both. Never experienced such service where we felt really prioritized as customers. No patronizing, no excuses, just authentic and genuine service from the heart. It elevated the meal tremendously! We came looking for soup to warm us up but had our hearts warmed too! Thank you so much! P.s. sorry for the bad pics! But the food...
Read moreI’m not Vietnamese, so take with the grain of salt. I’ve tried pho from many different Vietnamese restaurants so I hope I can write this review from somewhat of a knowing perspective..
-I asked for no cilantro, and the server looked really confused, as if they had never heard of cilantro before! This was puzzling to me. I figured that if they didn’t know what cilantro was, it wouldn’t be in there. -The noodles were flat. I went in knowing this, but it took away from the experience, especially compounded with everything else… -Not enough noodles :( -The meatballs???? They tasted like meatballs you eat with spaghetti at an Italian place. In all the places I’ve had pho (Korea, Chicago, Omaha, Kansas City, Minneapolis), this was by far the weirdest. I couldn’t have more than half a bite. -The broth came out just warm enough. Usually, the broth comes out scorching… it got cold, way too fast. -This is just a personal thing, and I know this dish is probably catered to meet the needs of people in Edinburgh, but I really, really wish the typical meat cuts in combo pho were present. No tripe? :( -Portion was pretty small, and nothing compared to traditional Vietnamese restaurant portions.
The only thing going for the pho was the broth. Honestly was incredibly disappointed by this visit, and regretted not eating at the Chinese BBQ nearby as we walked back. I couldn’t...
