Came through for lunch here on a Saturday during The Fringe festivities. We were unable to make reservations due a spur of the moment choice, as it was convenient to eat there because it was right next to the National Museum (where my nephew wanted to visit oj the day).
Although the place was huge, it was packed! The staff member who greeted us by the door was very polite and kindly forewarned us that due to lack of reservation, (and being a large party), they would probably seat us until after 15 minutes. It was an acceptable wait time for us, so we gladly sat and waited.
However, 15 minutes very quickly turned in to an hour and (although we waited patiently and tried not to hound the staff) we would have appreciated any update of some sort over the course of that period, or the option to atleast have our orders taken while we waited.
I understand that perhaps in the past, people have ordered in advance and decided to walk away at the last minute (hence they didn't want to do that with us) but with our obvious commitment to wait for an hour, surely that would have given them the hint that we were definitely staying.
Another point to note is that hopefully, if the wait for the clients were expected to be that long in the future, it would be nicer to have an ample sized seating area for us to wait around in.
Anyway, after the long wait, we were eventually ushered to our table on the upper level. Once we got our group situated, we headed down to order food. Our saving grace was that the manager was quite accommodating - especially since my nephew had dietary restrictions. Another plus was that we didn't feel that the wait for the food was longer than the wait to be seated. Furthermore, the food was amazing (as always) despite the business of the place. Glad to know that the quality and taste never gets compromised!
Although the beginning of our family experience there was not that pleasant, it...
Read moreThis is an honest review. As ive seen alot of people overhyping nandos. As someone who knows people and has visited South Africa multiple times. I suggest if you want the real, authentic taste of South African Nandos. Go visit South Africa and try it for yourself, because it doesn't compare. Compared to it the food was not as flavoured or moist. Especially the chicken livers. Also, I'm not saying the customer service is bad by any stretch. It's great for UK standards they were friendly and welcoming. But South Africa will tend to you above and beyond. Taking the receipt and bill to you and providing sweets at the end of you meal. In conclusion, This Nandos is pretty good for a UK nandos. But in the end it's not authentic and South Africa is better. But the vibe and music is spot on there was alot of songs my girlfriend recognised. My girlfriend from South Africa was extermely disappointed and it reminds her of apartheid. But i don't think it was that bad, and she's usually pretty dramatic when it comes to reviews. She watches married at first sight. Which says...
Read moreI absolutely love Nandos! The one thing I love about Nando’s is that you aren’t sitting waiting on someone to take your order or to get the bill! You go up and order and then you can just relax and take your time!
For me, the best thing about Nando’s isn’t the chicken it’s the mashed potato and halloumi cheese!
I tend to go for the mango and lime chicken thighs however with the addition of the Fino Pitta to the menu, that is now my favourite! Filled with chicken thigh, caramelised onions, aioli and halloumi, it’s an explosion of flavours!!
The price for a meal is fairly expensive for what you get, and there are times where the chicken can come out dry, however since I started eating the thighs, I’ve never had that problem!
They also have a loyalty card that if you spend over £7 you get 1 chilli and it has three levels: You get a free starter after 3 chillis (I recommend the hummus and warm pitta) 6 chillis you get a free main meal (usually chicken burger/wrap/pitta) And 10 chillis you get a free main with sides! The drinks are...
