Wong's Chinese — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Me, my partner and my mom have been ordering from here for years and there hasn't been a single time the food wasn't perfect. Every time we order, it tastes like it's gotten better then the last time, and I don't understand how that's possible. It doesn't matter what happens or how much we order, everything comes piping hot. We absolutely LOVE their food, especially the salt and chilli chicken and wongs special fried rice. We tend to order from the All Eats app but when I have been on the phone to them, there has been nothing but a golden example of customer service. The delivery drivers are always so friendly and caring, especially the lassy that delivers (I wish I knew her name but she's absolutely brilliant) My mom is house bound and gluten intolerant. The first time we ordered, we had to call to see what was gluten free and they had no problems making the chicken gluten free for her and telling her what other gluten free options they had. It was like a dream come true. The chicken didn't have that bland flavor that other places or other gluten free foods have. It was cooked perfectly and didn't upset her stomach. The food is very good and is well priced, the staff are very friendly and helpful and will give you an accurate as possible estimated time of arrival for your order if you phone up for a delivery and you can phone your order in for collection so that it is available for you arriving to the restaurant to collect. The drivers are polite and friendly and will do their best to get the food to you as quick as they can. You are needing to phone up if you are wanting a delivery or you can phone in your collection order. The food can be prepared quickly and you will not wait long on your meal even if you do not phone in your order ahead of arriving at the restaurant. They also have restaurant sit in side to the business and the staff are very friendly and helpful and offer first-class service. They have assortment of wines spirits and beers they also have non-alcoholic beers and a good selection of soft drinks, water is available on request, they also do very good coffees( they are good at making cappuccinos lattes as well as standard coffees and pots of tea) Is are very good restaurant and has very good takeaway service would recommend to anybody looking for good Food. Looked online and thought cheap and cheerful. Arrived, and no one was in the restaurant. We started walking up the road to go somewhere else but it was raining so we went back. The food was nice, good portion, and very flavoursome. Staff were friendly. Negatives: no atmosphere. Wine glass had lip stains on it, so I sent it back. The prices on the outside sit-in menu don't match the inside a la carte. At least 4 pounds more per main course. Overall, the verdict, neither cheap nor cheerful, takeaway trying to be a restaurant... a pity it could be good with some more effort... should have...
