I have never experienced such incompetence in my life. The fact the delivery took 2 hours 15 minutes to arrive to our address (11 minutes drive away) was just one of the ridiculous issues which arose this evening. After an hour and 10 minutes I called to check the status of our delivery as our Uber eats order status was yet to change from order being prepared. When I called the lady on the phone sounded as if she had to argue with another member of staff to find anything out. She then told us it would be setting off in ten minutes. An hour and a half in I call again. Still no update via the app. She explained they had been busy tonight and went on to tell me the order was out with the driver. 2 hours in I called again. The woman then told me she didn’t know where it was, it was out with the driver, and that that was all she knew about the order. She then asked me to wait ANOTHER 20 minutes for my order, at which point I demanded something was done about the situation. She then said she would call the driver, which she could have done a long time ago (if the order was actually out in delivery, which it evidently was NOT.) 2 hours 15 minutes later, we receive a Luke warm order, the pizza was covered in sweet corn and olives which we had left a note to have been removed. Read moreThe service is appalling, which is a shame as the food is quite nice. We've ordered wraps and paid for extra cheese, but we didn't receive the cheese. We've ordered kebabs with salad, but we've not received the salad. We've paid for extra sauces, but we've not received them either. Every time we've phoned them, but they don't care. Their excuse is always "we are really busy" and we'll get the missing bits out to you when we can. The problem with that is that by the time they get back to you, your foods gone cold. So, this time we wanted the whole order replacing so it was all hot and fresh ... point blank refused and told us we don't need the salad with a kebab anyway! That's my decision mate, not yours! We spent 20 minutes on the phone, firstly with someone who had trouble understanding English, then to a so-called Manager who had to ask another Manager what to do. They still refused to replace the full order and spent another 5 minutes debating if they could refund us or not. They made us give the food back that had already been delivered before they would agree! You're welcome to it mate - we've left it outside on the doorstep for you so you don't have to bother us again, being extremely busy and all! Read moreAppalling. Ive used Palace as a regular takeaway for a while now and always experienced minor issues such as food being a bit cold or them sending the wrong item but they’ve always mended the problem when it has arose. But last night was unacceptable.
Ordered food at about 1am. It gets to 2.30am and now im questioning where my food is so I check FoodHub and it says it’s been delivered (which it hasn’t) so I ring the takeaway and ask them where the food is. They ask me to hold on for a minute and I can hear them conversing with someone else for a few minutes. He finally comes back to the phone and tells me ‘The foods on the doorstep. You didn’t answer the door and the driver tried calling you but you didn’t answer.’
The funny part, I was sat waiting for the food, ON MY PHONE, the whole time. They never knocked and they definitely never rang. So I told them this and asked them to please not lie to me and that I don’t understand why the driver just left the food out in the freezing cold.
They proceeded to tell me it’s my fault and there’s nothing they can do about it (bare in mind this was a £30 order) and that I should have answered the phone call, that i never received!
Terrible customer service and a waste of time and money. If this is how they treat their regular customers then I’d hate to see how they...
