Pausa Cafe — Restaurant in England

Went for a coffee and cake around 3pm on sat 1st Nov, on arrival we observed some cakes and ordered a doughnut and drink as a deal and my friend ordered a tea and asked if there was any apple pie. The girl behind the counter with blonde hair and glasses rudely answered ‘I don’t know’. My friend chose another cake and the young girl on the till was struggling to put through a cream tea ordered by the person in front of us. The blonde girl was telling her what to press but the girl was still a bit confused, the blonde girl then said ‘ What is it with these cream teas that you don’t get’. Poor girl, she apologised to the customer, by now I was fuming, the way that poor girl was spoken to was totally unacceptable. You need to sort out staff training and don’t let staff treat each other so badly. I can't believe this cafe only has 3.3 as a rating. It's lovely,so clean,i go in with my autistic son every sunday and my son loves it.The cakes,scones are always fresh but maybe a little over priced,the bfast/lunch sounds yummy and it always smells good. We've been going for my many years and there has been a bit of a staff turnover but Jane has been there since we started going is such a lovely,friendly lady taking orders and also Becky who makes the lovely hot drinks and they are hot! Whilst the pricing for the Cream Tea was reasonable, that's about all that was. The scones were extremely dry and very bland. They also left a pretty strong after taste in the mouth. For a place like this, I expected better. The service was as poor as the scone, dry and bland. I don't expect the staff to be all singing and dancing, but a smile at minimum would be a start.
