My husband and I had a fantastic experience at The Sutan Indian restaurant in Hemel Hempstead town center on Saturday night 15th June 2024. The staff were so welcoming and attentive the food was amazing!! They had a live fire show on that evening which was spectacular. They also have live music regularly. The decore is beautiful, warm and welcoming. The food was delicious. And we indulged. We started with a plate of poppadoms and dips which were so crisp and fresh. The dips were so tasty I asked if we could keep them to have with our starters. We then decided to share two starters between us the lamb samosa's, lovely ,fresh and full of flavour. And the onion bhjai's which were so crispy and delicious. Perfect dishes to share as there are two per portion. I ordered the Butter chicken for my main and it did not disappoint it was beautifuly cooked, the chicken was tender and full of flavour- cooked in the tandoori oven and nice big pieces of chicken, the sauce was rich and creamy without being greasy or heavy it had a hint of heat which was perfect. My husband had the lamb shank which was one of the Saltun specialities and it looked amazing, slow-cooked and perfectly tender in a rich masala sauce the dish includes your choice of rice on the side, very good value for money.
