Had a few hours to myself so thought I would pop in and have a beer or two. As with other pubs nearby it has the classic traditional English pub interior, with the additional of a couple of TV's when sport is on. There was also a beer garden which due to the weather I didn't get the opportunity to use. I had a Riley's Gold and Alpacalypse. Riley's Gold was very reasonable at under £5, but the Alpacalypse came out a bit higher. Personally I preferred the Riley's Gold, but if you like hoppy beers the Alpacalypse would be up your street.

Came in for a drink while wandering round Bakewell. Nice little place, lovely service. Had a fireplace going when we came in so lovely and warm after coming in from the cool breeze. Three of us came in and had a pint each, 2 Thatchers and a Salt Jute IPA - £15.20 total

Lovely local pub in the heart of the town. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Very well kept real ales. Only looses a star because they don’t do food but if you enjoy a good pint in a comfortable and warm atmosphere this a pub for you.

Went to watch the world cup final and unfortunately was sat next to someone who kept making loud, sexist and racist comments about the game. I feel mean to leave a bad review for the pub based on this, but the group that they were sat with were the family of the owners and management of the pub. It's an England game, so I was expecting there to be someone sinking pints and shouting bad takes about the match but I was not expecting to feel so uncomfortable about what they were saying and for them to be friends/family of the people running the pub, or even the person who runs it themselves.

Beside the rude gentleman, the pub is alright. Lots of seats and drinks were fine. Will definitely be going to other pubs in the future. Owners were making comments complaining about people only getting soft drinks when it was an 11am...

The reviews for this pub says its dog friendly, well beware dear readers! The pub is only dog friendly if you want to stand in the overcrowded smallest bit of the pub with the hard floor. We were growled/shouted at really quite aggressively yesterday by an old woman who I can only assume was the landlady? She yelled at us saying dogs were under no circumstances allowed on the carpets! You have to cross both carpets with said dog to get to the hard floor, so quite impossible to not have a dog on the carpet! I have never been spoken to like that in a pub before, I think she needs to brush up on her people skills! We were a group of four over 50's with two very friendly dogs. I WILL never ever spend any of my hard earn money in...

Can’t rate food or drinks because we didn’t stay but came in on Sunday for a drink with my partner and the 2 women behind the bar were really rude in their demeanour to most people they were serving, we left straight away and didn’t end up ordering anything. Understand it is busy, but you work at a pub in a tourist town- it is to be expected. A smile and appreciation for business costs the business nothing. We went to the Wheatsheaf over the road and was greeted with a huge smile at the door for us and the dogs and amazing drinks instead 😊 (equally as busy but nowhere...
