Cafe Melange — Restaurant in Dover

I wasn’t an easy customer as I didn’t have my morning coffee yet 😝 but the folks here were phenomenal. Super flexible, patient (with me), and great listeners.

I had coffee and breakfast here.

The coffee (my order= flat white + almond) you can tell was made on good coffee bean blend. It was not bitter or burnt as most coffee shops have when it is low quality; instead here the quality was high and it was very rich and creamy. It instantly got rid of my morning crankiness 😂. Additionally, for the price, the size was perfect. Worth the money.

I also couldn’t make my mind between pancakes and eggs and the server was super sweet and let me customize my order to add both. It really made my day. The pancakes were fluffy and soft with the right amount of maple syrup. It was topped with banana and lastly with slices of ham. It was the perfect blend of salt and sweet which my palate was in the mood for. (Picture included).

The restroom is very clean and makes you feel like you are in a high class restaurant with it’s nice smelling soap and lotion. Honestly the only thing that I wouldn’t be surprised if it was added would be mouth wash 😆.

The only negative side of the place is the annoying/bad street performer on the other side of the street 😂 which isn’t affiliated with this place. Therefore if he is playing the a day you come make sure to sit inside. The restaurant does a great job drowning out the annoyance with some nice relaxing elevator music.

In summary, 100% recommend as a Dover...

Wow what a find🥰. We were looking for somewhere in Dover that served an all day breakfast and found Cafe Melange did. We headed straight there and was immediately won over by the amazing smell as we walked in. There was only a couple of tables left which is always a good sign. The kids all ordered the Pancakes with bacon and banana and an Oreo frappe. My partner ordered the all day breakfast and admittedly, I could of ordered everything on the menu as it all sounded amazing. I went for the goats cheese encroute with salad and wow it was just perfect. Everyone had clean plates without being left hungry. The kids enjoyed theirs, but think the sugar definitely got the better of them. The atmosphere was perfect, lovely and calm with gentle music in the background. The gentleman serving us was wonderful, so helpful,knew everything about the food and made very helpful recommendations. They have an outdoor seating area behind the shop, which is very pleasant also. I can't wait to go back it's definitely my new favourite place. The food was well priced for the exceptional quality. Popped in here for lunch whilst out on outreach in Dover. It's a little gem of a place. Definitely got a Mediterranean twist to some of the dishes but I'd hesitate to say whether Greek, Cypriot, Turkish or whatever. I'm thinking Greek coz of the bouzouki music. But it works. My mate had a vegetarian breakfast which he loved & I had a brilliant chicken wrap & chose chips as the side. The chips were brilliant but I should have chosen salad - I went a bit carb crazy. Beautiful chicken thigh, seasoned in a flat bread, not tortilla, wrap flavoured with onions and a sauce that just gave it enough of a kick. Plenty of stock English meals on the menu but I'd go for the Mediterranean influenced ones each time Plus really nice people...
