Hut 55 — Restaurant in Dover

To put this in context, I live in a foodie hotspot in the Cotswolds and delight in good eating. Spurred on by a slew of excellent reviews, we stopped off on a recent trip to Kent, to buy a couple of the "Massive" Sausage Rolls for the return journey. Not only were they indeed massive but I dare say the very best I have tasted in a very long life, the pastry as delicious as the generous filling. But then we could not resist slices of the Ploughman's (sausage meat, turkey, cheese, pickle), the huge golden-brown cheese and ham scones and at least two varieties of the much-too-tempting cakes. The service here is phenomenal. Our first visit we picked our dogs up a doggy coffee which our pup spilt. The lady came out with 3 fresh ones for free having seen this.

A few days later we hired bikes. On securing the bikes the key broke in the lock so we were stranded in Dover. The Hut 55 team couldn’t have been more helpful to ensure we got back ok and it didn’t impact our day. They offered free coffee and cake on our return as an apology too. Truly service like this is so rare these days- this place is a gem and the staff deserve recognition for an above and beyond...

Small hut situated on the coastal path in Deal/ Walmer in Kent. Right on the beach this little refreshment hut sells a range of teas and coffees plus sweet and savoury bakes. There is an inside seating area which would accommodate around 15 people. They also have an outside area plus some deckchairs so when it's warm and sunny you can enjoy your refreshments outside. I found the staff cheerful and helpful and my mocha tasted really good and was cheaper than quite a few other...
