Stonar Cafe — Restaurant in Dover

Situated just a couple of hundred yards from the main road at the entrance to an industrial estate this friendly, family run cafe is one used by those "Who know" rather than the casual travler or tourist. It serves good quality but traditional greasy spoon food such as Breakfasts, Jackets and sandwiches. It boasts outdoor benches plus indoor seating for 56 people and the tables could eaisly be moved together for large groups. Transport cafe on an industrial estate. The cheese burger, was a burger with a big pile of cheese in a crusty roll - no onions. The carpet was sticky and the sauce bottles on the side were very dirty. The ketchup was cheap catering stuff. It is a such a shame, because they have a captive audience and a large marina there ... it could be a really nice boat themed place and much CLEANER. Chuck the carpet, stick a life belt on the wall and some boaty pictures .... I think there was one of a mosque or...

I visited this cafe. I did not receive a welcome. I received an abrupt encounter saying, we've stopped serving food. I only wanted a drink. I asked for tea. I got a builders mug with a t-bag and hot water, a unopened bottle of milk to do it myself and a bowl to put the t -bag in. They could be a bit more welcoming and actually make the tea, smile perhaps, and greet customers nicely, like they actually want...
