Pizza GioVANni — Restaurant in Dover

Very relaxed family friendly eating space serving very tasty Pizza. Plates and cutlery are cardboard and wooden so just something to be aware of, it's very casual dining. Staff are friendly and helpful. You get a table buzzer to summon staff once you know what you want to order and if you need anything during the meal which is very convenient and saves you waving to make eye contact or going to the counter. There is a sofa area with games and books. The dining seating is not particularly comfortable as the cushions sink and you feel very low down from the table. We used all spare seat cushions on our table to bolster us up and we are reasonably tall people. Toilet was clean but there is only one for everyone so could get busy. All in all delicious food, takeaway and eat in is the same price. Casual, bit noisy, friendly. Probably not the place for a romantic dinner but great for bigger groups wanting a fun get together. Lovely pizza but (customer) service could be better. We ordered 3 hot chocolates to warm up while we were waiting for the food. It was very bitter and didn't taste nice at all and the kids couldn't drink it. I mentioned this on the way out, assuming the staff would welcome some feedback. It turned out they knew they made a mistake preparing it, using cocoa powder rather than the 'luxury' hot chocolate ordered but didn't bother to correct it. That's poor service, especially considering the £3 price tag for each cup. They offered to prepare it properly for us to take away but a this point none of us wanted a hot drink any more. What I would have expected at this point would be a 'sorry, we've made a mistake and we'll refund the drinks'. Sadly no apologies or offer for a refund. We will not...

My friend brought me here for the ice cream, and oh my, it was divine. This place has a great vibe and atmosphere, was so surprised by it. I can't have dairy however, my friend was telling me, this place is legendary for the ice cream and dairy free options. I went for cherry and mint choc chip.

I think we'll have to come back here sometime for the full experience.

We were welcomed at the door by a lovely young lady, who just had a great personality and was really cheery. We wasn't sure if we could get ice cream to go and she said that's not a problem.

They only had a hand full of choices but they had the best flavours including a cherry 🍒 one.
