The Strand Street Kitchen and Bar is a charming, small establishment with both indoor and outdoor seating options.

On a recent visit, 21/09/24- I found the atmosphere cosy, though somewhat uncomfortable due to the intense air conditioning, which not only made the space cold but also cooled down our food rather quickly.

Service-wise, it was a bit of a wait—about 40 minutes from ordering to receiving our meals. I can understand that they were busy, but the wait felt unusually long. I ordered the ham, eggs, and chips along with a Coke, the chips were over cooked but the ham was delicious. My husband opted for the chicken wrap, which, surprisingly, didn’t come with any sides like a salad garnish or chips. He also had a milkshake, which was pretty average, nothing special.

After waiting for a considerable time and finishing our cold meals, we decided to leave fairly quickly as the chilly environment made it hard to linger. Overall, while the place has a nice vibe, unfortunately, I won’t be returning or recommending it. See attached pictures of the menu...

Despite living in the town this is the first time we have tried the Strand Kitchen , I am glad we did.

Overall it was very good , we sat in the small attractive courtyard garden alongside the restaurant .

There was a small hiccup with the card machine when ordering, but in fairness that may just have been a random technical hitch, as subsequent customers did not have a problem.

We paid cash for a full English , a salmon , poached egg , avocado on toast + coffee , Tea and Orange Juice. We particularly appreciated when ordering an additional pot of tea for one, that the owner insisted that there would be no charge as an apology the earlier card issue.

With one minor suggestion, we were very happy with the quality and quantity of the food delivered, the reasonable price and the friendly service. Whilst very enjoyable , the Salmon served with the poached egg and avocado was cut in small squares and looked a little sparse: we would happily pay a little more for a more generous portion.

We will...

Now whilst I cannot claim to be a food connoisseur, I am a very fussy eater. With that in mind you can trust me when I say that the Fish Finger baguette (plus salad, crisps and Latte) was all absolutely amazing! The fish fingers in particular were delicious, tasting so fresh and with a lovely light battering to them. The crispy salad providing a lovely contrast. The team there are very friendly and kind, nothing was to much bother, we were actually enjoying chatting with them so much that we forgot about our food which was on our table waiting to be eaten! We sat outside where there was plenty of space for us and our large dogs, who also were spoiled with some yummy treats. If we were local we’d definitely be regulars, especially with the large amount of menu options. Very highly...

Went to sandwich for a day out and found this place was highly rated. Sandwich is not that big of a place, and we got to Strand street in a couple minutes from the quay car park. We both got a sandwich (Fish fingers and tartare sauce / Sausage and chutney) which were fantastic and very flavourful. Would definitely recommend both, but the sausage and chutney is what I would get again. They didn't have an allergy menu to hand but they were very accommodating. One of us is dairy intolerant and they swapped the butter for an alternative, so this was great service. All the staff were friendly and the food/drink came out quickly. On a hot day they have a few tables out the front, but they were all full when we arrived. Would definitely go back

From serving one of the best breakfasts in town, this place has massively disappointed in the last two visits. It’s not the cheapest place and the quality has gone right down - so much so that I had ‘charcoal’ bacon today hidden in my burger. It was like something fished out of the bottom of a bbq. Disgusting. Had I seen it I would never have bitten into it, but it was hidden inside my burger. When I mentioned it to the staff whilst paying there was absolutely no gesture to compensate me for my foul meal and I was still charged the full price. Such a shame. The mayo I asked for never arrived, and there was no salt on the table either. I won’t be risking a third bad meal there.
