Saltwells Inn — Restaurant in Dudley

I booked a table at the saltwells inn for 12 30pm today Wednesday the 4th of 6th 25 we went with two friends for a meal . When we arrived met by friendly staff told where we where sitting and sat at the table choosing our dinner. We ordered two salmone dinners off the menu and two steak pies and chips the two steak pies came but they weren't pies they were slices then One of the salmon meals came and we looked at it it was rock hard and 10min after the other salmon meal came. To our disgust this piece of salmon was also rock hard. So I called one of the waitress over and showed her. She apologised a d said I can see it's hard can I get you anything else so the wife and our friend said we don't want that again can we have the chicken instead please. By this time me and my friend had ate ours as it was only luke warm any way. We had to sit there and wit for our wives meal to come.after 10 min of finishing ours there chicken arrived . Oh dear the chicken was so hard they could not cut it even with a seated knife.i called the waitress over again told her about the meals again and she again apologised. Me and my friend had to sit there with empty plates until they left what they could not eat.The waitress said I'm so sorry here is a refund for the two meals . I have never been so dissatisfied with a meal as this one we eat out a lot nearly every day but this was one of the worst meals we have ever experienced staff were great but the meals and the wait time was unacceptable. On arriving at The Saltwells Inn and ordering two soft drinks (a pint of diet Coke and a Vimto) we were given a pint of Carlsberg and a Vimto. OK, no biggy, didn't complain, just drank them - nobody wants to work on a glorious Sunday evening, right? So we didn't make an issue of it.

We ordered a starter - a portion of Nachos, and mains of Fish & Chips and Hunters Chicken. This is where it really went downhill.

The starter and the mains arrived TOGETHER. What? Why? How is that acceptable?

The Nachos were completely inedible, obviously microwaved to within an inch of their life and just a rock solid mass. We sent these back but were offered neither a replacement nor a refund, just a simple "sorry about that".

The mains were OK, large portions (their saving grace) and served hot. However, the chicken was a little rubbery, microwaved possibly?

We decided not to order a pudding from the DESERT menu! Yes, desert. Seriously, please get your menus spellchecked!

Have just visited this pub for a meal, first thoughts clean and inviting but be careful when ordering drinks , the drought beers are over priced but when I ordered a pina colada cocktail for my daughter priced at nearly £7 for it to be a ready made drink in a small mixer bottle that you could get from the supermarket instead of a proper cocktail mixed by professional bar staff very disappointed. The meals we ordered were mediocre very basic and not worth the cost , no member of staff asked us at anytime if our food was ok until they collected our plates, after discussing with the waitress that or meals were not the best she politely apologised and spoke to her manager who offered us free deserts at this point we just wanted to leave so politely declined.
