What can I say. A nice pleasant environment with good lighting and decor " it reminds me of the style of decorating from the art deco period of the 1920". There's also toilets very clean and tidy, which is at the back of the premises as you come through. The toilets are very nicely decorated same " art deco style" to me , and they smell fresh no sent of urine. I think that there is a disabled toilet facility's too. The placement of the tables and chairs, not to close together but comfortable with plenty of room for you to move around. Space enough for a family getogether's and for mother's to bring in there prams and babies. As you come through, on your right the premises have a large bar, and they can mix and make any cocktails or drinks that you want, from a very large selection of alcoholic drinks, and also you can have beers if you don't want any of the fancy cocktails or drinks " if you're driving they have non alcoholic drinks, beers and pop too" . Access for wheelchair users I think might be difficult but not impossible. It's getting up to and in ,It's coming up from the lower floors too the first floor, "I think their is a lift " but you would have to travel at least fifty metres turning left if you're coming in from Asda's, then write , to get to it. But the best way to get in , is to come in at the level from the car park coming in from the bridge straight into merry hill " intu" that's the fancy name. As you come in across the bright from the car park and I think you go through the electronic double doors maybe manual, cannot remember which one. You come straight into merry hill sight it self, the restaurant is on your left, turn left around the glass facades " you will be able to look into the restaurant" , and go through the glass double doors "not automatic " . Go to the receptionist pay your fee, for me it was £15.00 and go in you will be checked/ greeted buy one of the staff "that you have a ticket " that you got from the receptionist". Make your way to a table and then from the large buffet, you choose what you want . Which is a very large selection, from European, Chinese, Indian etc ,didn't see everything too many choices to choose from, and eat as much as you like , " I could only manage one sitting plus pudding myself" . But too try them all you would have to go multiple times ! . If you're going You must get there before 3PM or 3.30 PM not sure because they will shut down and clean up and reset and get read for the evening shift which. I think it starts at 5PM or 6PM not sure, and i think that they shut down for the day for 12AM. So if you're going in the afternoon try to get thier for at least 11AM to 12PM. But it's always best to ring first and find out how everything " the times " is before you go ! . Overall a very nice place for a meal if you don't want a sandwich or a cup of tea or coffee. If you want a meal or you want to go with a friend or family, this is the...
Read moreDespite popular reviews about this new restaurant. This is my most honest review about the place and I really wish i had known before choosing this restaurant. We went for a meal yesterday, after reading all the positive reviews I've seen I was really looking forward to enjoying great tasting food. However there are so many aspects which need desperately improving. 1st, ln arrival we were ordered to pay?? Strange... But we did ofcouse. As we were paying we noted a number of employees standing behind the glass screen staring at us all. Which was really off putting and left us feeling some what uncomfortable. 2nd majority of the food was cold!! As we all know buffet food isn't piping hot but the food was cold, which no one enjoys. They do have a large selection which is good. However the quality of food could severely be improved, (taste). Also alot of the food selections looked to be cheap quality (noodles, fried rice etc) 3rd the members of staff seem under trained considering a restaurant of that size. Often not knowing where to put themselves.... On the plus side the toilets were spotless!!! Not sure if that's because it's new and no one has really used them to destroy them yet...
I found a hair in my food yesterday, aswell as I had to put a plate to the side when I realised it had food residue on it. The dessert selection was most displeasing, very low quality choices on offer. From cheap brownies and carrot cakes to cheap ice-cream.
So much that needs improving here as the prices don't reflect the service quality. Compared to other rival buffets. So honestly before you consider going if you have a good pallet and know what quality food should taste like consider an alternative...
Read moreAfter my family visiting the restaurant when it first opened, my friend and I thought we’d visit. If I could honestly give this restaurant 0 stars, I would. It is hands down the worst place I have been to. Seeing all the 5 star reviews I just think how?? Why wasn’t our experience the same?? We are not fussy people but the food was absolutely disgraceful! I’m not one to ever complain about food however I was extremely shocked by the quality, quantity and temperature of the food. Most tins you would lift up the lid and there would be nothing underneath - they were empty! It was almost as if everything is produced on such a mass scale that there is no flavour to absolutely anything. The sauces of the dishes were genuinely just water! There was absolutely no taste what so ever. A lot of things were not cooked through either such as the chips, the beef and the veg. The thing that topped it off for me was the deserts. There were Asda’s own ice creams?!!! However, as hasty as this sounds, I think that was the best part of almost £20 per person. The price for such awful quality of food is disgraceful. I genuinely do not have a good word to say about it. Not only this, there was food constantly on the floor which was just being trodden on and flies hovering over dishes that were open! I much prefer a Tesco’s Chow Mein ready meal… has much more flavour. Please, please save your money. I had complained to the girl on the front desk and received an apology however to me that didn’t really justify or excuse the fact that we had wasted almost £40 on the food that was not...
