We have been regular customers of abys on our annual holidays and have always been pleased with both the service and standard of food but following our experience today will never use them again. My wife is severely disabled and uses a mobility scooter as she cannot walk very far even with sticks. Our family of five visited today and my wife and I sat on the table just inside the entrance designated for disabled customers but not for long as another party of three came in and asked if we could move to accommodate one of their party who was in a powered chair. We declined as it would be difficult for us and they initially accepted the fact and said they would have to go inside. Shortly after however a male member of staff came out and told us that we would have to move as the table was needed for this other party. This was not a request and was not done quietly or tactfully causing immense embarrassment and distress to my wife and is completely unacceptable. On reflection we should have refused to move but with my wife in tears and the centre of attention at a time when you were busy we left the premises and found somewhere else where our custom was welcomed. I note that cctv is mentioned in other reviews so you can check what I am saying is correct. My daughter did go inside and explained the implications of the situation in a polite way to the member of staff concerned but the situation worsened when he walked away whilst she was still talking !!!!!as a suggestion going forward perhaps the table should be designated for wheelchair users only as opposed to the general term “disabled “ to avoid upsetting...
Read moreThe staff are all really friendly, welcoming and have a great sense of humour.. I always leave feeling good inside by their lovely character. They're the customers' "Sunshine on their rainy day" because their positive attitude can brighten up your mood if you're not feeling great. Their restaurant is now even better because it has a large, colourful salad bar there, hence they definitely cater for people who have special dietary requirements - i.e vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free. (I learnt earlier today that my original review on Aby's - posted on TripAdvisor - didn't explain this very well and could put potential new customers off attending, which I can't allow to happen. so I thought I'd best update my review here, seeing I couldnt edit or delete-then-rewrite my review on TripAdvisor). They also cater really well for people of all ages. Think the only suggestion for improvement i can come up with is that it'd be great if Aby's restaurant would be open until the evening - maybe 7pm? - in the summer months - If it's not already, that is - seeing it's located opposite the beach, and people like staying on the beach until really late. So Aby, Linda, Ashton, Leyla, Gavin, Tasha, Codey, Beth and all other staff, keep up the good work! Your restaurant is definitely one of the top ten best ones in...
Read moreWhat a lovely place! Fantastic location right by the beach. Firstly the staff are brilliant, always smiling polite and attentive. They really care if you enjoy your time there.
We went twice in the few days we were in the area. (Its worth travelling for though).
As a group of 5, ranging from 15 to 42, we had various foods, vegetarian, Gluten free, vegan. Milkshakes, Coffee's.
The Buffet breakfast is not cheap but is Fantastic value. Basically when you see what you can have, and the quality of food, the price is a bargain.
Two of group decided to order from menu rather then buffet breakfast, one had poached eggs with avocado, the other scrambled eggs with salmon. Portion was excellent, food delightful. Both would not stop talking about it.
The only unfortunate thing was we kept filling up before we got to sweet treats, which again looked yum. Again they offer things to cater for various diets.
If we lived closer it would 100% be our favourite place. But we live 150 miles away.
But it has made us want to return to the area.
Just to add we were staying on a holiday park, with facilities minutes away. But we chose to travel 15 minutes by car to revisit.
Overall I cannot praise this place enough.
I try to always be honest in my reviews, but I personally can't find fault.
Well done...
