Shame the staff are aggressive towards peacefull protesters. Throwing them to the ground. The reason behind the protest was Foie Gras being sold in this restaurant. A product that is obtained through geese being force fed, typically grain and fat by inserting a tube into their throats in order to make their liver swell and become fatty. We stopped by for Saturday lunch whilst we were in the area and the food and service were somewhat mixed. Between the two of us, we shared the scallops and cured monkfish for starters (both nice and well presented), the mushroom and spinach risotto (great flavour) and the lamb chops (these were dry and disappointing considering they cost £29 for two small chops) and tomato salad as a side (this was ok and probably wasn't necessary). Definitely one of a small handful of excellent restaurants in the area. We've eaten here twice and had an excellent meal both times: creative, interesting food prepared excellently. I only deduct one star for ambience because if you are next to a large group table upstairs, it gets quite noisy, as happened to us once.
