Sala Thai — Restaurant in East Hertfordshire

We've been coming here for years, mostly for special occasions, but I think this may have been the last time some of our party go. Sadly, the food quality has really declined. The prawns were really not nice and there were only 3 of them in a main course. The green chicken curry was nice enough, and I'm told the soup and lemon chicken were good too. The sticky rice came in plastic bags. One waitress was great, the other who took over barely acknowledged us and completely ignored an enthusiastic child small trying to say hello the whole evening. There was exposed live frayed wiring from the ceiling to the light in the loo and it didn't feel as generally well kept or clean as before. Such a shame, because this had previously been one of our favourite places. Used to have a lovely family atmosphere and always have great food and be busy. Well over half the tables were empty and we went at peak time Saturday. I really hope they can return to the quality and service that we have...

We have ordered Thai exclusively from this restaurant for years, but the service recently has been shocking and we will now go elsewhere. They forgot food items from our order twice on consecutive orders, and had the audacity to claim not only that we didn’t order the items (actually argued with us on the phone claiming we never ordered them) but also charged us another delivery fee to deliver the items they forgot!! On both occasions! They were so rude and argumentative we decided the last time was the last straw so will now...

Sad to say this restaurant has gone downhill. The previous owners were always pleased to see their customers, waitresses were attentive & friendly and the food was great. Saturday night, we were the only people in there for quite a while, it used to be full with a lovely atmosphere. The welcome was non existent, service was indifferent.
