Casa Lua — Restaurant in East Hertfordshire

We had a lovely evening in this rustic style restaurant. Service was knowledgeable and excellent, by the wife of the chef. The menu offered a good choice and wasn't too large, which for myself means that the menu is changed on a regular basis. A real bonus. The excellent of wine choice was in keeping with the Spanish food on offer. We shall visit again, of course. Edit: We revisited and again had a lovely evening meal. We both would like to see more of a choice for vegetable dishes, and maybe some pulses. Also, I'd like see the option of crevettes/king prawns in the shell, as they have more flavour than what's on offer. We also had the seafood rice, cooked with seafood. Just to make you aware, supported this restaurant during the pandemic, so thought we’d order another takeaway, as the website still advertises this service, only to be told by the rudest women that we no longer offer this service, I said thats a shame we’ve just picked a lovely meal for this evening, to be told and I quote “tell me, what do you want me to do about it” Never again will I set foot inside this establishment. We have visited Casa Lua over many years and have always enjoyed ourselves. However on this occasion we were disappointed with the quality of the food. The white bean casserole was undercooked and tasteless. The chicken thighs were well cooked but bland. The Patatas Bravas were hot but just had a spoon of tomato sauce on top, with limited flavour. The bread was pretty dry and did not come with oil or other condiments. However, the chicken livers were delicious and the garlic mushrooms very hot and tasty.
