Not sure why it says this place is temporarily closed when we ate there yesterday? So they had a deal on for a pie (chicken and mushroom or steak and ale) with either mash and vegetables or chips and peas with a pint (you could choose a soft drink or ale) for £7.50, we had 2 pies 🥮 (steak and ale with chips) with a pint of shandy and coke, a fish 🐟 and chips 🍟 and a scampi, and a pint of coke and lemonade, it came to around £40. It arrived so quickly which I was really impressed with, the pies were lovely, nice flakey pastry and the chips are probably the best chips I've had (they're not homemade but at most places they aren't) they were nice and soft how I like them, my mum loved her fish and my sister really enjoyed her scampi. We then decided to have dessert 🍨 we got chocolate 🍫 fudge cake 🎂 with cream, apple crumble and cream, apple pie and custard and sparkle cake and custard which came to £17. Everyone enjoyed the desserts, i will say the sparkle cake (which is a piece of cake that's pink sponge and white icing with lot's of hundreds and thousands was pretty dry, I probably wouldn't eat it again. But everything else was great, the lady who served us was very friendly oh and they took our plates away very quickly after we had finished eating which i really appreciate, would...

Went for food, as I didn’t want Skegness’ finest pizza/burger take away. So ordered three steak pies with “creamy mash and this seasons vegetables”.
I ended up with a dried out slice of pie, a slab of overcooked smash, and a portion of peas.
It’s March, not June/July, I expected carrots and other seasonal vegetables. Not a single vegetable item.
The decor reminds me of a residential home, and the name is perfect for this “Greenacres Retirement Home / Greenacres Residential Home”. From old paisley carpet, to lack of waiting staff, and the pastel colours throughout. Dated pictures everywhere, with a tv shoved on a wall to break the monotony of knitting, reading and puzzles. Remember kids, don’t be too loud to disturb the other folk!
I’ll give their carvery a miss, in case it’s all overcooked; perfect for those...
Read moreCame acrosss this place driving from Chapel to Skegness, just outside Ingoldmells. Popped in on the offchance. They were quite busy from a Wednesday afternoon so decided to get a drink first and have a look at their menu. The signs outside stated "£5 steak ..." I was welcomed with a smile and served quickly. I was given a menu which, to my surprise, was much better than i had expected. I choose the rump steak deal at a fiver (yes a fiver), my wife choose the salmon. we added a couple of extras and job done. When it turned up it was cooked just to my liking, my wife's salmon the same. After eating all that we sat outside and had a quick drink before heading off. Staff were pleasant and attentive. Food superb. I will be going back here for sure next time we are in town. Do yourself a favour.....
