Well what can i say about fantasy island!! Ive been going for as long as i can remember i now bring my own kids to fantasy island and never had a problem until this holiday!! We queued up for wristbands and i expected my daughter to get the free wristband as she was just on 0.9m and this was her first time on rides so wouldnt go on the bigger rides so i didnt want to pay out for a wristband for the few amount of rides she was going to go on and i was under the impression that under 0.9m was free to which the person at the till replied they have to be under 0.9m to be free so if she was half of an inch shorter she would have been free!! Not only that my niece who has a disability making her unable to walk she can sit unaided though she just wouldnt be able to walk herself onto the ride!! She wanted to go on the rides and because she was unable to physically stand they refused her a wristband even though they could see she was bigger than my daughter even sat down!! We asked to speak to a manager and they brought out what im guessing is a team leader over a manager and when i said explained to him what happened he looked disinterested and he said its park policy so when i said so its park policy to discriminate against a person with a disability he just shrugged i then said is it because shes in a pram and not a wheelchair he said no its park policy so i said what if a person in a wheelchair wanted to go on the rides he again just shrugged so i said this is a joke i want to speak to someone higher up he said no problem walked away and didnt come back!! So i went into the pyramid as we was at the wristband stand near odyssey, and we saw the same "manager" as we did outside he ran into the back when he saw us so we queued up and spoke to the lady at the till explained what had happened and i said i dont want to speak to the person that ran into the back so she got what im guessing was the duty manager who i spoke to and he kept repeating the same thing about park policy too so i said to him under the equalities act 2010 u need to make reasonable adjustments for anyone with a disability and as soon as i said that his attitude changed and he gave us 2 wristbands foc for both my daughter and my niece!! So why couldnt they have apologised and done this in the first place we wasnt even trying to get my nieces wristband for free its just shocking that we had to go through all of that on our last day of our holiday it quite frankly ruined it and its a good job shes not at the age where she understands and if this is how you treat your disabled customers i feel sorry for the people that do understand as this must really ruin their holiday and be made to feel different which they shouldnt!! I think you really need to look at your policys fantasy island and change them as if it was due to the safety then you wouldnt have given 2 free wristbands as compensation!! I just really hope that if we return in the future we dont have to go through this again as next time she may just understand!! So...
Read morePurchased a wristband for all rides for my 13 year old son, we were told at purchase that one of the main rides was not in operation but this was the only one unavailable. He went on two rides but when we went to visit the next ones he wanted to go on we found another ride was inoperable and not working (frustrating but guess this can happen) but also one ride listed was not complete yet and another had been moved off site. There was no reason why this should not have been made known to us on purchase of the wristband and would definitely have made me make the decision to just pay as we went rather than purchase the wrist pass. We went back to the cashier desk and was told that despite clearly being miss sold on the availability of the listed attractions on offer was refused a refund as apparently their terms and conditions online over ride consumer rights even though they are not made apparent or available on purchase! The cashier at first claimed to be the manager on site (an obvious lie) and that the waiver in their t&cs makes it ok to not point out to customers on purchase rides which are not there or are not completed. When questioned on her consumer rights knowledge she then back tracked on her employment role and the ‘duty’ manager was called. He arrived and his overall demeanour was uncooperative and unwilling to listen to any reasoning that why we were requesting our consumer rights. He even stood by and watched as a third party individual got a involved making false accusations about ourselves and derogatory comments towards my son and wife which from a supposed customer service professional is disgraceful whatever his opinions were regarding the merits of our claim. My son was really looking forward to his trip to this park as someone who is thrilled by such attractions to find over half the rides suitable for his height, age and adrenaline levels and to be shown such poor customer service (bordering on lies) and disregard to consumer rights to receive from 3 different members of...
Read moreWent for a weeks holiday and booked the fantasy island caravan park, price was excellent we went for the bronze 6 berth and you got 4 wristbands for all the rides we needed 5 so paid an extra £40 but this gives you unlimited rides on most rides. The caravan was nice with only a couple issues which are not the fault of the park but could have been handled better. A couple of seat buttons were pulled off exposing sharp metal that could have cut one of our three children, when I went and told the staff I was told they knew about it but hadn't bothered to sort it before we arrived, I then noticed six screws that had gone through the wall where they had used longer than needed screws to hang the radiator, I was told they would fix this and it would be done when we were out. After going to the theme park we arrived to the seats having been fixed but 1 left for me to fix and all the screws sticking through still. I then had to call security as the reception was now closed, luckily he was really nice and came to look but he had to call to get permission to remove the dangerous screws. When he called they were on speaker phone and I heard the sarcastic comments of the staff, I thought these were inappropriate as it was their incompetence to check the homes for danger properly, and when this is a place for kids this could have had serious consequences slicing themselves open. However these were the only issues. The caravan was nice and big and well laid out beds are really cheap and not nice to sleep on but it's not a major issue for the price you pay. The park itself is excellent there are loads of rides the people and staff are friendly and the market is amazing. Just remember to barter on prices. Food was pretty decent in most places and the kids will have an excellent time here. Would have got 5 stars if the staff at the caravan park had been more attentive. There is a lot to do there and the fireworks show is...
