The fish was fine, though small, but the chips were the most disgusting we have ever tasted anywhere. They had clearly been reheated so were dry and hard and extremely unpleasant in flavour - no hint of having been cooked in beef dripping at all. We specifically went back to this shop/diner because those we enquired within on the seafront don't fry in beef dripping, whereas the Boardwalk advertises that it fries in beef dripping (which makes all the difference in my mind and makes seaside fish and chips something we really look forward to). They don't do large portions so we bought one fish and two portions of chips between two of us. The charge was £12.99. Bearing in mind we had to throw both portions of chips away, this was the most expensive fish I have ever had. I originally thought of complaining to the manager so that they could at least give us fresh cooked chips when we next travel to Skegness, but their phone number doesn't work and they don't offer an email address so clearly don't encourage customer feedback. In hindsight, I'm happy just to leave a bad review because they clearly don't take any pride in their food if they are prepared to serve up such poor...
Read moreAbsolutely shocking bought food from here today as part of a large group after finishing our food the other half of our group arrived and went to order food while waiting a member of staff came over and accused us of not purchasing food. After we presented our receipt and informing him that the rest of our group were in the process of ordering food he continued to harass us about the table we were sat at then when one of our group took a photo of the cafe so we would be able to be able to leave a review later we then caught the same staff member taking photos of our group which included our children we asked him to delete the pictures off his phone to which he refused. I find it deeply disturbing that a member of staff (who by the way he was acting was some kind of manager) has pictures of my children on his phone . He became extremely rude...
Read moreWalked by this cafe on our way in to the aquarium where there are picnic benches where me and my other half sat down to finish our cans of juice that we had with us, in the sun on an extremely busy afternoon. To my knowledge there were no signs indicating that these benches belonged to said cafe. We just assumed they were part of the aquarium as they were directly in front of the entrance. Literally 10 seconds after sitting down an old man who resembled Joseph fritzel rudely interrupted our conversation asking if we had bought our juice from the cafe. We replied that we didn’t and he told us to move as he pays rent for the picnic tables as part of the cafe. If my other half wasn’t with me and my nice ice cold can of coke that I hadn’t purchased from that sh*t hole was unopened, i’d have wrapped it round his nut. Lost...
